Call of Duty WW2 was hyped up before its release to be an extremely ''researched'', ''scanned'' and ''historically authentic'' video game. So today we put that to the test by analyzing and listing every historical inaccuracy that I was able to find in Call Of Duty WWII. There are likely more inaccuracies than what I mentioned in the video so please comment if you have any more or any corrections.

This game might not be very historicaly accurate but it does a WAAAAY better job at portraying World War 2 than Vanguard did.
  • @ManinTidyWhities
I love the part in the campaign where the sargeant yells, "All you had to do was follow the damn train!", whenever you fail that one mission
  • What hurts the most is that most of there inaccuracies could’ve been avoided with a quick google search 💀
  • HE GOT ME AT "what are they trying to blend in with, the God damn house plants?!' LMFAO
  • Hearing how the guns sounded in game versus real life when it comes to the delay between shots sent chills down my spine
  • At least it’s better than Vanguard that’s for sure. One cool detail I like in the multiplayer mode is the fact that the kill streaks have different models depending on what team you are currently on in a match. For example: for the glide bomb kill streak, the model for the Axis team is the Fritz X while the model for the Allies team is the Azon radio controlled bomb. The recon plane is the L-4 Grasshopper for the Allies and the Fieseler Fi 156 Stroch for the Axis. The bombing run is the B-26 Marauder for the Allies and the Heinkel 111 for the Axis.
  • 2:39 The M1928A1 Thompson, used early in the war, had a drum magazine and did in fact see combat with it. For certain I know it was used during Operation Torch and in the Pacific; there's a photo of a Thompson with a drum at Guadalcanal online, with the gunner standing in front of a Stuart, and another photo at Bougainville likewise in front of a Stuart.

At 4:24, OBVIOUSLY it took hours to capture the beach in real life but you also need to understand that this is a GAME, the missions just can’t take hours to complete!

Regarding the Stuka bit, An interesting fact also is that if this takes place on D-DAY, it's unrealistic in that there were only THREE Luftwaffle aircraft in Northern France at the time. THREE.
  • As someone who had a friend who studied history, this video is truly incredible.
  • 7:38 fun fact: in old CODs, the MG42 has that sound but harder, because you're supose to hear that directly with your ears
  • @TheRedBaron2010
The Thompson used by Pearson could’ve been a gun sent to the front lines from his family since that was what most families did during World War II
  • Honestly I played this alot when it came out an looking back it was entertaining, but it's sad how little this actually gets right compared to waw
  • 17:51 A more hilarious inaccuracy is that in the cutscene where we switch to Perez it shows that the tank is using the 76mm gun. However once we take control of the tank the barrel length and width magically became shorter and wider make it looks more like the 105mm gun

I miss when CoD games shifted between a few different perspectives throughout the game. My favorite one that did this was CoD 3 where you shifted between American, Canadian, British, and Polish soldiers all in one game. Not to even mention that campaign all was depicting only the Battle of the Falaise Gap. There really should be more media like that depicting the roles all the Allied nations had even in small parts of the war like that.

Hey, M1 owner here (I own 4) and it is actually really rare for an M1 to chamber a round automatically like it's supposed to. The overwhelming majority of the time, I have to smack the oprod handle forward to chamber a round. I have replaced every spring outside the trigger group in two of my M1s and even the bullet guide on one rifle and it still doesn't work "right". But it looks cooler that way, in my opinion. Also, in the Battle of the Bulge, there WERE a number of black troops mixed in with white troops near the end of the battle due to a shortage of manpower. Although, again that was near the end of the battle and to my knowledge, no black troops led white troops into battle. But they did impress the people in charge all the way up to Truman as it proved that not only could black troops fight, they could work well in integrated units.

I love how the more inaccuracies he encounters the more angrier he gets
  • @KnightSlasher
It's funny how a game that claims to base itself so much on ww2 gets everything wrong about ww2
  • The MP28’s are actually more likely than you may think, on the western front towards the end of the war the German army would often give our response forces outdated or captured weapons in order to save the more modern equipment for the far more desperate eastern front, this mainly happened due to (unsurprisingly) the Atlantic wall being believed to be unbreakable, and in terms of the trench mag K98 well it should be a G98 but those would have the same story as the MP28. (Edit: the fire rate is way off though so you can keep it as an inaccuracy)
