This is easily the best part of the movie. The music, the acting, the chaos, the highness, THE SINGING. All of it is perfect.
  • This scene was clever. Aside from the shots and edits, it makes you realize that this is just dumb fun and it made me feel that if I was actually there, I might actually try grabbing the hand. Sets up the next scene perfectly. Don't do drugs kids.
  • I find it very unnerving how the kids are super playful and upbeat, yet the spirits that possess them are angry and terrified.

imagine being summoned from the after life and you,re forced to stay strapped in someones body while high teens laugh at and record you lmao

This scene was even better in the movie theater when the bass was bumping and the theater was shaking. Such a fun ride!

This is hands down the best edited scene of of 2023. The timing of each shot in tune with the beat of the music, the movment of the action matching the melody of the song. This is an example of competent film makers having fun with the editors.

For those curious about the music; it’s actually the music that accompanies the French song that Mia is singing. It is “ La Foule” by Édith Piaf.

This scene lives rent free in my head now. Everything about it is so good.

What i love about this scene is the music that somehow described what's happening in this scene pretty good which is happiness, anger, sadness and probably anxiety, the "spirits" action was also very funny but some of them were pretty sad in my opinion like this one 0:43 which i assume is a grown person who pretty much figured out that they were dead and decided to pray with the fear of going to hell

When you realise the spirits who made them cried werent malicious, but stuck in limbo, and probably got confused when suddenly faced with a bunch of laughing teens holding devices with a bright light in front of them
  • This scene was insane! Yes it has amazing editing, and incredible writing, music , acting but Jesus what it does best is mirror how teens now use drugs/vapes as toys and are purely in it for the high and fun/fame that comes with doing something everyone else is doing. We yearn for human connection and feeling like we are a part of something. It’s human nature and this scene perfectly encapsulated that! The kids did it cuz everyone else was doing it and it looked cool and they got a rush/ thrill out of it they kept going until they couldn’t go back

the way mia's singing perfectly overlays with the rest of the track,,, omg 😍
  • @HorrorLover
I want to talk to the ghost who decided to use their possession time to have a mini french concert lol

Mia would be an awesome villain if she’s in the sequel.

One of my favorite bits in the movie! Really immersive and gets you comfortable with the hand just like the teens who either don’t realize it’s true danger or willingly ignore it for the sake of having fun. Really makes you feel like you’re in the room with them, and your energy changes right along with them when Riley starts violently bashing his head on the table. It’s such a fun scene, but sad to think about how Mia ended up just like them and are just scared spirits trapped in limbo looking for anything but the voids they’re trapped in. Great film.

Another thing I feel this movie has done very well is the title. Not only is Talk to Me the name of the game, but if her friends just sat down and listened to her (like in the beginning when Mia was desperate to talk about the Kangaroo) she might have gotten help. I’m not saying it’s her friends fault, but much like the gamble with letting the kangaroo live to maybe heal and hop away, maybe this could have naturally prevented Mia from relying on such dark methods of comfort. Talk to your friends, especially when something like death in the family happens. They tell you they’re fine but in my case it was because I didn’t know how to admit I wasn’t okay, and that nearly took my life.

The nods to substance abuse in this scene are captured very well, like tightening the strap on the chair how heroin addicts do on their arms, slamming the hand on the table like you do when you down shots etc - excellent scene, all fits together perfectly
  • This scene works so well because this is the party montage in all party movies except for drugs and alcohol they playin demons 😂
  • @reggea4ever
They're using the contacting the spirits as a HIGH That's very original thinking from the writers.

Im not saying like it was the best acting but truly this scene was weirdly beautiful, the music, the tone and the concept of this movie was unique. A24 NEVER FAILED 💥
