I HOPE THIS HELPS! PLEASE HAVE FUN AND IF IT HURTS YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG! ENJOY!!
  • @bloodyassault803
Katie: "Kids, it's time for bed." Katie's kids: "We don't want to mom!" Katie: " GO TO THE FUCKING BED AND SLEEEEEEEEEEPPP!!! "
  • @SiriasisOFFICIAL
I am also a vocalist, and this is actually how my vocal coach taught me. Its all about your neck control and your tongue.
  • @phantom_turtle0
Katie’s metal screams always impress me every time I hear them
  • @v_u_
Its like you go from a "girl noises" at 2:25 to "mommy noises" and then to "hellhound noises" at 2:30 Lovin'it lmao
  • The diaphragm is the centre of all vocalist's power, clean or metal. As Katie said, it will still take time and practice for you to learn how to scream without hurting your throat. When you Do hurt your throat (it happens to us all) please take the time to rest and let it heal properly before trying again, & learn from your mistakes.

she should have won best music vtuber honestly
  • Yeah I tend to end up voicing for characters who growl loudly like 40K orks and it's good to know I was doing it right by accident. Thanks Kat.
  • @buenadzidzia6328
I just love how the growling matches Katie's cat-like image. It's literally like a lion's roar
  • @chaosXP3RT
Genuinely fascinating. I always wanted to know how metal singers were capable of singing like that. Like David Draiman or Corey Taylor
  • @Eichro
Every single "how to metal scream" tutorial I've ever watched feels like the "draw the rest of the owl" meme, I can do the "pissed off sigh but hard" deal and sounds and feels different from normal voice, it doesn't hurt, but it's absolutely nothing like a growl
  • @Necroxion
I just kept doing Megatron voices as a kid until I just kinda did it without my throat getting scratched for once It turns out somewhere along the way I just somehow did the Diaphragmatic Exhale that she mentions EDIT: Oh God I learned screeching by doing Zergling voices
  • @YasaiTsume
Thanks kat, now I can scream "MOMMY" in the most guttural and savage way possible.

As someone who’s heard ELPHET’S new song in Guilt Gear Strive, I’ve been wondering how a gal could do the DEATH METAL SCREAMS. Glad to see your tutorial, it helps a lot. 👍
  • @archdiangelo7930
I wish I lived alone so I could practice this right now, I'll definitely need to recheck this and practice later, being able to do this will make for some kickass D&D narration/voice acting!
  • @TheMadRatKing
That first real scream demonstration sounded like a fucking panther. That was animalistic and raw and blew me away holy hell
  • I've been trying to get my guttural vocals back in shape after years of not practicing and this is easily the best tutorial I've ever come across for it. Thank you!
  • @guessit5036
Interesting. The scream techniques are quite similar to Mongolian throat singing techniques. From my point of view throat singing techniques are more complex, since there are different styles of throat singing and different styles of so called "whistles". Overall both techniques focus on the right breathing and positioning of both tonque, and vocalis muscles.
  • @Tubewatcherdude
This was the most understandable tutorial on screaming I’ve seen so far
