Dearest Ruby: I can't remember when someone has documented something of this caliber in such extraordinary detail and clarity. We all know this was terribly traumatic for you, but thank you so much for sharing this journey with us. I am grateful you are safe, and that your home did not receive any more damage than it did. May God bless and comfort you and your community as you rebuild your lives. Continued prayers for you all.

As a fellow Floridian I also appreciate the great true coverage of Ian. No personal agenda just true footage and clear narration. Praying for all those affected, I have family in Lee high. God bless you.

This was the longest Hurricane I’ve ever experienced in 24 years of living in the cape. Your home is absolutely beautiful and thankfully you and your family are safe.

I live in Naples Florida and thank you for allowing us to experience time lapse and the devastation that occurred there. So many beaches are wiped out. What man builds in the calm is destroyed in the storm. This will not be the last. Storms are getting bigger and stronger.

This is truly devastating. You did an excellent job with this footage and giving those of us who are land locked an idea of what it is like to experience a hurricane. I was getting nervous just watching your video. I’m very sorry your community has taken such a hit. Best of luck in moving forward and recovery efforts

One of the best Ian videos I've seen so far! No hype, just factual event recording. I'm glad you, your family and your home were spared from the fully wrath of this hurricane. All the best to you.

Thank you for taking the time to document and share what we experienced in Cape Coral. My husband and I live here as well and stayed through the hurricane. It’s been hard to describe just the type of devastation and sadness we’ve been experiencing to those who weren’t here. This helps share what we’ve gone through. Thank you. ♡ (and I’m glad that you are safe!)

Your home and garden looked so beautiful before the hurricane. My heart goes out to you all. Hopefully one day soon the neighbourhood will be restored to its former glory. I ‘liked’ your video, because it truly documents the devastation hurricanes can cause. I’m glad you’re all safe. Kind regards from London, England.
  • Fellow Cape Coral neighbor here... glad you all are safe 🙏 ❤️ . We just got power back yesterday in our section. This was my first hurricane to experience and I can't believe the damage this one has caused. A good reminder to us all to help our neighbors and friends in this time of need and thankful for our health.
  • Your commentry was terrific , your voice was so soothing . So sorry for the loss you and your neighbors have suffered. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. You did a great job.

I came across your video today and had to watch. I live in the NW cape and everything you documented was very accurate. Not only were we hit with sustained 150+mph winds and gusts touching near 200mph at times, the storm surge after the winds was a silent deadly force. Great job showing the world a first person's perspective on a hurricane of this size. Hope your rebuilding and all is well. God bless
  • @kaylaelogan
Thank you for documenting all of this. We also live in Cape Coral. I haven’t been able to bring myself to take many photos, it’s too heartbreaking. I’ll never need a photo to remember what I’ve seen from Ian. Praying you and your family are continuing to do okay.
  • What a marvelous chronicle for those of us who have never experienced a hurricane in their entire lives. I am from San Diego, California, home of the most temperate climate in the nation. My prayers are being sent for you as you recover from this horrific hurricane.
  • So sad to see what has happened to your beautiful city. As I type this, my husband is in Puerto Rico helping hurricane victims. I don’t usually comment on YouTube videos. However, you did such an amazing job of documenting the hurricane and the aftermath. This is so much better than anything I have seen the from the news or other Youtubers. You really helped me to understand how great the devastation was and still is. Great job. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  • Thank you for the outstanding taping that occurred at your home and afterwards. Your narrative was excellent and movement of your device was very good. So very sorry for all the damage and loss of life caused by Ian. We pray for a speedy recovery. From a Michiganian.
  • Thank you Adventure Mom, you are a brave beacon of light for others to learn from. As a survivor of many hurricanes in S E Louisiana for 50+ years including, but not limited to Katrina in 2005, my heart goes out to all Floridians. Consider yourself one of the lucky ones Ruby....... I never considered evacuating at any time in my years down here, but after the storm of 2005, I never stayed again and I always came back within 2 days after the passing to assist those that needed assistance. The aftermath is the hardest to overcome, albeit the duration of a strong, relentless storm is horrifying. May God give you all the peace and comfort and help that all survivors need.🙏:thanksdoc:
  • You did a awesome job showing folks that these storms are not a joke.glad you and your family are safe.
  • You've created an important historical document here. I admire your courage in capturing all the images, as well as how professional the finished video looks and sounds. Thank you for sharing it.
  • @nja3224
I felt my own anxiety and fear rise as I was watching this, thank you for putting this out there for all to see. I’m sorry for the devastation this storm brought to you and others, and to the lives lost. Some things can be fixed or replaced, while other things are gone forever. I live in Brooklyn, NY and was spared the hardship. I was around for Sandy several years back, the severity and violence of these storms are frightening. My prayers and thoughts are for all who were impacted.
  • @michaels7566
Wow, crazy experience! You took some fantastic footage and did great reporting during the storm, and stayed seemingly calm through it all. You are one brave and resilient lady.
