BIRTH STORY - Baby Born During Blizzard in Alaska | First Time Mom

My first baby; water broke 8pm, arrived at hospital after midnight, no pain, just discomfort and 3 pushes and he was out. Congrats!

Samantha - first of all- CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU and your family! What a glorious gift she is, and she’s clearly been born into family filled with love and devotion. There is nothing more precious in this life, in my opinion! Second- as a labor and delivery nurse for 25 years-You have done a tremendous job of explaining your perspectives on your labor experiences in such a way that I believe would be helpful when educating others. Third- I have seen in person far too many times, nurses, who for WHATEVER unGodly reason believe that performing cervical exams in this very aggressive manner is the way to go. 😩😬Anytime I orient someone, I make it a personal undertaking to ensure that they NEVER perform exams like that-and I intend to use your video-and the specific way that you described how that felt to you (I’m so sorry by the way-just awful) to show them why it’s something I harp on so much!👍🏻 Finally -I hope and pray that your postpartum experience goes beautifully, and that the slowly unfolding process of adjusting to life with this beautiful child is as consistently positive as it can possibly be!!! You’re channel has been a gift to me for a long time now and I’m grateful for so many things you have added to this world through putting out your videos-this one is by far no exception! She is absolutely precious! You did amazing! My mom went into rapid labor with my sister. I remember the anesthesiologist came in and the doc sent her away. My mom was so upset, she kept asking where she was going. She was just too far to get an epidural. She had my sister with no drugs and I remember sitting there thinking I was adopting after what my mom went through, but obviously that changed. My son was an emergency c section at 38 wks, and his birth story was pretty chaotic too! You just focus on your baby and don’t worry about keeping a video schedule because this is an amazing and incredibly tiring time! Congratulations on becoming a mama to a beautiful baby girl!
