This is a life saver!! I had this repair quoted at $1,100 for the full aluminum replacement. I bought the Dorman part for $230. Huge savings!!!

I just did this to my 2014 Durango. The vehicle was running hot and I saw a constant plumb of vapor coming from the area just under the cooler filter. I followed your tutorial and even used the exact Amazon part for the replacement. Other than having to fight with that second bracket on the driver's side that you were missing, this was an easy fix. Also, I had a very hard time bleeding the cooling system, as I had a ton of air and it was causing the two radiator hoses to collapse. I use the bleeder screw on the thermostat housing to help remove the air. Thanks so much for the video!

Now I've already done this job once on another Durango and I'm watching your video for a refresher course. I must say to anyone doing this job definitely watch his video. Very detailed and informative. Great job sir and thank you for taking time to make great content for us.

I just did this job. I'm getting too old for this stuff. Hats off to the mechanics out there... this was rated an "easy" job. I managed to get the oil cooler out. However, I was not able to remove the old sensors. They were on there very tight and I broke them. They both cost about $70 each. I ended up breaking one of the new sensors too. Be careful putting these on. I wish I had a bench vice to hold the housing somehow while I tried to tighten these stupid sensors. I had to go back to the dealership to buy another one. Barely made it since they close at 3:00 on Saturday. The sensors ended up costing me more than the oil cooler housing. Total cost $400 in expensive Mopar parts. It would have been more if I didn't use the online ordering discount. The oil cooler housing was about $75 cheaper if ordered online. MSRP for the housing is $250. The only thing I feel bad NOT buying were those square white gaskets that go on that fuel rail assembly. They looked pretty used up. In all, the new oil cooler seems to have corrected the coolant leak issue and still saved $1000. Now I can remove the radiator cap and see coolant. Yippie

Great Job on the video. Watched others that didn't really show and explain what your doing.
  • Thanks for the video, definitely made the job a lot easier! I changed mine on a 2017 Durango GT. The intake removal was a little different but other than that, it was spot on. To others that do the repair yourself, the replacement they sent me had 2 sensors on it while the one I pulled out only had the one so even though it said it would fit, I had to reorder mine that came with the plug so I could cap the 2nd sensor hole.
  • I'm having this problem now waiting on my part to get here now n thanks for the good vid it really helps me save money

Change the oil cooler on my 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan a week ago with after market Amazon unit. I did not use the gaskets that came with the unit instead bought a separate Mopar gaskets. So far soo good and thank you for your video tutorial.
