My jaw dropped when the Bucs pulled Jones after 5 innings and 59 pitches. At that point I was pretty sure the Mets would come back to win, which says something about the fight in this team.

Considering how frequently pitchers are blowing their arms out these days, keeping them on an innings limit is a smart move.

Ok I watched the first two series and thought … well this is gonna be a long season… but a switched flipped on. The bright spot without question has been the pitching … I mean wow. If we had this bullpen in 2022 we are talking World Series. The BP has been stellar!!!

This managing the work load hurts pitchers. Seaver, Koosman, Ryan had no limits and no arm problems into their forties.

Glad we got the win. But boy, the Pirates in 2 years or less are going to be a problem. That pitcher was awesome and they have 3 other electric guys waiting in the wings.

we didn’t deserve to win this but pirates deserved to lose even more for not allowing there starter go go deeper he was cooking. I’m happy we won though gotta keep stacking wins and building momentum. My only concern is we needs starters to go atleast 6 innings in a 162 game season we don’t want to tire out our bullpen

Terrific young pitcher, and I love what you do, but can we stop with this “fortunate” talk just about every time they win? It waters down the win and takes a little joy out of it. How about when the Mets won yesterday, they were better than the Pirates on that day. Just like they were better than the Braves, Reds and Royals on those particular series’s, and when the other team wins, they’re better than the Mets on those days. At the end of the year, the numbers won’t lie and we’re all going to have to live with them, good or bad. Garrett’s been a Godsend thus far. ✌🏽
