As a librarian, one with a deep interest in archives, the improper storage of the manuscript breaks my heart.
  • @abyssimus
"Unlike the dry climate of Egypt, Long Island is not that" -- that's borderline Douglas Adams worthy writing there.

The existence of wealthy collectors is so frustrating. What's the point of hoarding a bunch of stuff when you don't even know what it is?
  • @Zulu-Lemon
Based on paintings Judas definitely had some personal space boundary issues

old documents degrading makes me so mad. They just shouldn't be in private hands imo. So much has been lost already! At any rate, once again thanks for a lovely overview once again! your videos are always amazing and interesting to me

He's the ultimate wingman. "Dude, I need your help with something... can you take one for the team?"

Early Christianity is so fascinating. It is so easy to presuppose that the Christianities and Bibles which exist today were inevitable but so many people had radically different ideas about Christianity and Jesus.

This alternate view of Jesus, Judas and the Apostles makes my head spin thinking about it from the perspective of politics, and the fact that the winners get to write the history. This video is fascinating.
  • I found a very old rebound copy of a prominent abolitionist novel once, and my first instinct was to preserve it in a large cigar box in an always dry room in my house until I could get it somewhere that will better preserve it. How someone found a literal lost gospel—RECOGNIZED ITS SIGNIFICANCE as he tried selling it for millions after acquisition—and put it in a random safety deposit box blows my mind.
  • I am not a religious scholar, however I do self-educate and I do so with your videos as a spring board into higher levels of religious knowledge. Thank you for the energy and time that you put into these videos, they are absolutely fascinating and beneficial for a person like me.
  • I can't tell you how absolutely maddening it is that it was kept in a safety deposit box in new york, a place that has a significantly higher average humidity than that of egypt, and because of that, some of it was damaged and forever lost. just seems like it was done out of ignorance or negligence. I read it recently, and it's one of the most fascinating gnostic texts (in my opinion); it really is a pity, could have been avoided.

Early christiantiy/gnosticism is my favorite video topic of yours! Thanks!

As a long time watcher (from when you were at a few hundred!), I want to say that I appreciate the video interludes and production quality upgrades you’re making slowly but surely 😊
  • What a superb presentation. Absolutely delightful to learn from you Filip. Thank you for all the wonderful work you put into this ❤
  • I went to a catholic private school for 5 years and this reminds me of our stranger danger alert. When we practiced it or whatever. If there was a stranger in the building, the front desk would say over the PA system "we would like to take a moment to say a prayer to Saint Judas" and I always thought it was a bit clever and a little funny. Idk

The Demiurge proposition answers all those questions about why the Abrahamic religions are so contradictory to the physical world around us.
  • I have been waiting for this for some time. I checked my subscriptions feed earlier today in hopes of seeing this content. I am so pleased to thank you for this episode.
  • @samwill7259
At this point I'm gonna ring a bell every time a religious channel like this says "Gnostic BUT..." because it's one of those things that's always coming up
  • @DioShiver
I really love those gnostic topics, it is so interesting to see how diverse Christianity actually is!
