  • What if I told you that I'm extremely happy that you're finishing this game and as a disabled veteran your videos always give me something positive to do on a Saturday

It's cool that you managed to get the exact right amount of detail in these videos. I legit think you're doing a thing that nobody has ever really done before. It's easy to find people talking about Zelda or playing it or speedrunning it but doing an actual step-by-step walkthrough while also being entertaining is, I think, completely novel. I wish these videos would start getting like 5M views so that it would become an entire genre.

39:33 This is the only time my mother and I needed to call the Nintendo help line. We tried bombs, wands, staves, the hammer and running into it and everything EXCEPT pulling on it. For some reason, we just never thought of it. Maybe we subconsciously thought we had already tried it? We explored the world and did as much as we could until that was the only thing left to do, gave up, and called the hotline. We felt dumb, but it was worth it. [related but off topic a little] My mom always played games with me, often taking turns at the controls of the RPG and adventure games, and defeating them together. She used to read and explain the various text with each game to me. As I got older, I read - with her help - and asked questions. I was eventually able to read and understand the games on my own. She passed away in 1999. I think one of if not the last game we beat together was OoT. There just weren't many good RPG/Adventure games for the N64. She never lived to see BioWare RPGs. She would have loved KotOR, Mass Effect and Dragon Age for example. I was able to keep the tradition going with my sister - who recently gave birth and wants to do the same with her son.

Can’t believe I played through this game multiple times back in the day and never knew about anti faeries and magic powder. 🤦🏻‍♂️

This is legit the best thing about the weekends. It gives me the same joy I used to feel back in the days of good Saturday morning cartoons and Lucky Charms. Thank you, good sir. Thank you.
  • @Waldimart
Saturday afternoon saved, yeah. Now getting some fresh coffee and enjoy more Zelda!
  • @RyanRead
Always loved the end credits. Brings a tear to my eye when the original song plays.

I wish I could go back and experience this game for the first time again. Definitely one of my all-time favorites.
  • 1:33:17 -- can't believe just about everyone who covers kholdstare misses this little tidbit: for a fraction of the cost of constant fire rod spam on the shell, you can use the bombos medallion to immediately take off his icy shell. Then with plenty of magic power you can then spam the fire rod on the three eye things in part 2... Or use the sword. That's fine too
  • I was surprised you avoided the bomb spiting tree after the first bomb it threw. You can speak to every tree that has eyes, they give more lore to the game and I think some may give you clues.

My grandmom got me into video games and zelda was her game. I would watch her play this all the time and remember the day she beat it. That ending got to me. Alot of good memorys.
  • One of the things that narrows down the flute without the good bee is that the boy mentions he buried it and planted some flowers. So you can just dig the parts of the grove that have flowers growing, which is still a little more time than the bee trick, but is a decent alternative to digging the whole darned place up.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting Part II! One of my favorite games from my teenage years!!
  • Loved the reference to the old Raccoon’s cartoon. That was an underrated show. Great work, as always on this!
  • @tsg9256
Link to the past is a masterpiece, but this walkthrough is a masterpiece in itself. Great job!
  • @travezripley
Yes!! I waited all week for this!!! I played a little bit, and pressed pause and saved my game so I could pass you the controller to see how U Beat a Link To The Past.
  • @Freakinger81
If you dont feel like constantly turning around to block the Eye Lasers in Turtle Rock, you can just charge your Sword and walk sideways. Just make sure your Shield is on the side where the Laser is coming from.
  • @ApeBrainGames
The ending still gives me the feels to this day, 31 years later
  • @calvinsmith6389
"Sadly the priest isn't there to refill your hearts....that guy's dead..." All of your videos are great but that made me crack up and may be your finest moment!
  • @linkmastr001
1:32:00 One small thing you missed is that if you kill those ice enemies (the Freezors), a chest will spawn. While it just contains some bombs in the normal game, this is useful to know if you play this randomized, as I learned of this chest because it had something important for me. EDIT: 1:43:50/1:44:50 Another smallish thing, in the room at 1:43:50, if you walk on the spikes you can lift the skull to reveal a switch that reveals a chest containing the last small key, so even if you waste a key, you can still get in the room. Nicely edited and done video, btw :).
