Lore:
Catriona (Isla's biological mother) is married to a fire fighter. Now one day while she was on her day off taking care of their daughter, Isla, she receives a knock on the door. She answers it to find one of her husband's close co-worker/friend, who tells her that her husband had died in a fire. Now a single mom, she tries her best to take care of her and her daughter. She works as a nurse in a hospital, so she works long hours and sometimes has to leave her baby at home. But the lose of her husband has been affecting her a lot... All she wants for Isla is for her to grow up and to always live a happy life... Thankfully she has her best friend Nina (who is also her co-worker), who is always happy to help her. Despite the loss in the family, she managed to give Isla a happy life for about 3 years, until it all went wrong... You see Cati had always been working long hours as a nurse, and deals with a lot of stress and fatigue. She's been able to hide this though for a long time, just so she can take care of Isla... Until it all just came crashing down and she collapses one night... Nina along with Isla took her to the hospital, where they learned she had a stroke, and she didn't have long to live... Cati held onto her daughter tight, as she buried herself into her mother's loving arms... She assures Isla that she loves her and she'll always be there for here, even when she's gone and attempts to calm her down.... And then... She was gone...



yeah so that's how Isla became Jay's first adopted kid :D
