I really admire her for being this graceful when she has endured so much hate. You can love the original little mermaid and still appreciate the new version. Some comments are so vicious. But yet she is pure smiles all the time.

When I went to the movies to see The Little Mermaid today, everyone was applauding at the end of the credits

  • Imagine little Mermaid being the first live action nominated for best Picture and best actress Halley Bailey I can see it !!

Gosh I would’ve loved to see the entire audience reaction to this with her there too.

it was cute the way that she giggled and went "thanks" so cheerfully when they applauded and cheered her on

I will admit, I had my doubts about a live action 'Little Mermaid'. Not because of Halle - I honestly thought she'd be perfect for the role even before she was announced, she definitely has the voice for Ariel. And Melissa I thing is going to kill it as Ursula. No, I was more worried about the necessary amounts of CGI that were going to have to be used. I thought it'd wind up being little more than a 3D version of the original akin to the remake they did of Pokemon the First Movie. This trailer, however? It's convinced me. I'm now counting down the days. All support to Halle and Melissa! Can't wait to see how you play it, ladies!

She even has Ariel’s giggle 🥺 I love her so much. This trailer made me sob.

She got that role because she was the best for the part!
  • Jesus Christ l’m crying my eyes out and this is only the trailer? Fock a goose that voice gave me pterodactyl bumps and I am counting down the days till this movie comes out!
  • Honestly, Halle makes an incredible Ariel just like Brandy makes an incredible Cinderella. I could only imagine what it would be like if I was in a musical called "The Princess and the Frog" and I played one of my favorite Disney Princesses, Tiana.

Interesting how in this version they didn't overlapped Triton saying "but he's a human..." They showed only the song.

Ariel is a ficticious character I'm certain Ms. Bailey will knock the role out of the park! May the LORD Bless her! On another note, Cinderella and The Lion King are the best Disney stories. The villains are crisp as are the good guys. The saddest stories were Dumbo & Bambi.

In the one I watched (the Oscar Academy Awards video file), this part has been cut out. I saw that Halle Bailey came to the stage and then it switched to the next scene. So, I had to come to YouTube and watched this part to find out what it is. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
