I can't help but notice, that many of the comments concerning Frank's rendition of this song, are coming from people who were born after Frank stopped performing. To hear these young people praise Sinatra , tells me that he will be remembered forever. God bless all you young folks for your kind words for Frank. It really brings joy to my heart.

Frank Sinatra co-wrote this beautiful song, and when he was recording it in the studio, he broke down and cried, and had to come back later and record it. Ava broke his heart and it was very difficult for him, but he recorded some beautiful ballads about that time, some of his best, three of which he called his "suicide albums" -- "No One Cares, Where Are You, and Only The Lonely." His emotions are raw and very apparent with the beautiful but sad songs on those albums, some of my favorites!

I'm a fool to want you I'm a fool to want you To want a love that can't be true A love that's there for others too I'm a fool to hold you Such a fool to hold you To seek a kiss not mine alone To share a kiss the Devil has known Time and time again I said I'd leave you Time and time again I went away But then would come the time when I would need you And once again these words I'll have to say I'm a fool to want you Pity me, I need you I know it's wrong, it must be wrong But right or wrong I can't get along Without you Time and time again I said I’d leave you Time and time again I went away But then would come the time when I would need you And once again these words I have to say Take me back I love you pity me I need you I know it’s wrong it must be wrong but right or wrong I can’t get along Without you

I love a lot of modern “broken hearted” songs, but man, the absolute longing in this song. Frank’s voice, the lyrics, the instrumentals. Absolutely beautiful.
