Their marriage has always be on the rocks.
-
Tress MacNeille has such good range. Her voicing Fred through Wilma was spot on.
-
I love how the therapist reminds me of Madam Foster Style-wise
-
Man, I remember seeing this exactly once when it first aired, and then it disappeared like a Boeing whistleblower. I was beginning to think I'd dreamed the whole thing up.
-
The flint stones in the style of the powerpuff girls and dexter’s labatory
-
The freeze frame and the specific drawing of Fred absolutely kills me every time
-
“Wilma Flintstone, a natural red-head!?” Oh yeah, it’s all coming back to me now 😆

A few years ago, I tried to share this special with my parents for Dad’s birthday, but unfortunately, they couldn’t go beyond the opening scene here, as to them, their memory of Fred and Wilma Flintstone was too pure and amicable for them to imagine them on this level of animosity with each other. Mom especially couldn’t conceive of Fred ever being that mean-spirited or dismissive. I felt really ashamed. It was the one sign that proved to me once and for all that the storytelling values of Savino and Smith, at least before Savino’s disgrace, never fit with my or my family’s better convictions.

In a way, Warner Bros. is like Nintendo when it comes to media-preservation. People want to be able to have access to all their productions. But unfortunately, they don’t just don’t release them through either modern accessibility or in WB’s case, give them physical media copies. And if they do with the latter, it’s usually missing some stuff like the Ed, Edd, n, Eddy Complete Series. (It’s ironically a scam that they marketed as “complete” when it really wasn’t!)

When I was a kid I always used to hate how Wilma and her mom got on Fred for everything but now as an adult I understand why they were pissed all the time because Fred is a huge asshole

It’s weird seeing a TV broadcast in this high of quality again, not like the usual VHS recordings often seen in early 2000’s broadcasts. It really does take me back to watching actual cable TV again, lol.

Canonically speaking, this would be before Pebbles was conceived

0:44 - "Yes, Mrs. Flintstone, wasabi be the sauce!"

Love the jazzy and bigband music of the Flintstones theme, they arranged it excellently here. This art style fits magnificently with the type of show this is, having a whole series like this will work, especially if they execute it well.

Jeff Bergman and Tress MacNeille, New Voices of Fred and Wilma
-
You can tell it was directed by Chris Savino because of the long pause

"Wilma Flintstone, a natural redhead?!" I've always wondered why Wilma got so mad when Fred brought that up. I looked up that redheads are stereotyped as being hot tempered & violent.
-
Doesn’t want to kiss Wilma Only gets mad when she brings up Barney Not a “natural redhead”? Fred is a sassy little queen omg
-
3:11 It was at that moment he knew...he f*cked up. 😂

I love how they fit so well in this era of art style.
