I have a total of 4 stents. 1st was in 2010 and then another in 2022 and then 2 more later in 2022. It's a life saving procedure. Thank God for modern medicine and the Docs that put them in!

I am an advanced certification Radiologic Technologist specializing in interventional cardiology. I have worked in the Cardiac cath lab for 28 years. This is by far the very best explanation for patients I have ever seen.
  • I had a massive heart attack in 2019 where I was down 30 minutes and shocked 28 times before having 7 stents placed. I'm doing fine now, very lucky to be alive.

I just had one installed after a heart attack at the Glenfield Cardiac care unit.. I can't believe what I just went through.. I was in the lab literally 15 minutes, and it was done.. they let me home after 4 days in hospital.. I thank all the people who have become skilled at this procedure.. you all have saved a lot family's grief to many.. again, I thank you all.. not all superheroes wear a cape.
  • You just explained this more clearly than my own cardiologist. Thank you for this information. Greatly appreciated!

had a bare metal stent implanted 19 years ago before these new drug stents. still kicking. never got any chest pains again. Can't ask for more.
  • I have a stent that was placed after I had a major heart attack. I never even had any symptoms to warn that there was something wrong with my heart. The stint saved my life. Thank you to the wonderful minds out there that can create things like this and the heart doctors that are pioneers in the field. :)

I had a heart attack 3 years ago and had 4 stents inserted. I made the necessary lifestyle changes, regular exercise, improved diet etc, and lost 40lbs over time. I'm on Aspirin and a Statin, I was also on Ticagralor but this was discontinued after 12 months. I've had no problems since, never had a pain or other symptom since the day it happened, regular blood and stress test results are always good. I realize my good luck at having survived and so my healthier lifestyle has become the norm.

I had a stent placed 7 years ago and my cardiologist told me today that the test done this past Dec. showed it was open and functioning.
  • I had a heart attack in 2018. A stent was fitted. I made small life style changes. I run two companies, married for 40 years , and feel strong and fit. God bless the cardiologists and scientists.
  • I learned about Stents the hard way. In July 2019 I dropped dead from full cardiac arrest due to what doctors call the "Widow Maker" at 51 years young. Luck was on my side, I made a full recovery thanks to many people, and of course the man up stairs. Now I take very little cholesterol medication and Aspirin daily and a healthy diet. I probably think of the incident almost every day. Survival is minimal and I made a full recovery. If you find yourself in a situation, please listen to your doctors. I didn't at first but believe me, I sure do now. I was always thin and in shape. I never saw it coming.

I just had heart attack nearly two weeks ago,put in the Hospital. After a few days waiting I had my turn to get the cardio Stent Jan.17,2023 wow! It is so amazing! It goes into my wrist (I'm awake) the next day im home. I'm glad I have only one STENT needed to put in. Just a tiny needle pricked n in no time its done. This is "MIRACLE" no big surgery, you can do things straight away. I love you all Cardiologist,Doctor's,Nurses who help us to have another life. Youse are all saviours to those who needed it.. Thank you Sir for the explanations about this procedure n "THE STENT" THE LIFE SAVING MIRACLE.
  • I’m at double board trauma and cardiothoracic surgeon. This video was very informative. I already knew all this, but I was excited to hear that you are working on the advancement of better technologies.
  • What an absolutely brilliant description of the deployment of stents in the case of (at the very least) an Angina attack. I was supported by the brilliant team at Southampton General Hospital UK when I suffered a severe Angina attack. The attack returned and I had another stent insertion at the hospital. This was all over 20 years ago, and the surgeon (whom I will not name for privacy reasons), advised "Get on an exercise Program". I have been exercising ever since, every day, mainly cardiovascular, and nothing more strenuous. I have to add I am now 84 not for reasons of vanity, but for accuracy.

I just had a heart attack on Thurs. I had an artery that was 90% blocked. The Stent saved my life.

Thank you for this great clarification ! I had my first heart issues around 2010 with quadruple bypass and aortic valve replacement (metal). Then, in 2020, after contracting lymphoma requiring chemotherapy, I needed four stents due to narrowing. Unfortunately, for some reason, in early 2021 it was decided that I needed additional stents but, again, by the end of 2021 complications required a redo. So, in total I’ve had 12 stents in three years. I’m now 70 and still very active. My “hobby” is construction and I’d say my activity level is high. I can tell anyone facing the need for stents, DO NOT hesitate. After every procedure I can truthfully state that I felt better immediately after the procedure. It’s just like having a blocked drain cleaned out.

Heart Attack, 4 Stents, Hospital and Rehab. (56 - Not overweight. Eat a 'good-ish' varied diet. Very active and work in Construction) I've learnt more in this video than ALL my verbal or literary interactions with Medical Staff. This video should be compulsory viewing for Stent Recipients. Thankyou.
