On this day, 9 years ago (October 28th 2011), Avicii released what would become one of the most monumental songs in EDM history, "Levels." Even years later, it's difficult to see the words "electronic dance music" without the tune coming to mind. Few artists will ever be able to achieve what Bergling did in 2011. I remember the first time I ever heard this song is when my Brother was blasting this in his room and I ran into his room and said "WHAT SONG ARE YOU PLAYING!". And he told me the song name "Levels" And I ran to get my laptop and imported this song to My Ipod Touch from ITUNES. And I played this song on loop constantly

I listened to this song with my grandfather before he died in the hospital

I don't really listen to electronic music. I usually listen to rock and hip hop instead. But in my opinion, this is one of the most beautifully crafted songs in history. This song evokes so much emotion through its music and its sample. It's a song about perseverance, battling through tough times, coming together with people you love, and living the best life that you possibly can before you leave Earth. That is the feeling I get from this song that barely has any lyrics in it. It takes a real talent to turn a song that could just be used as a mindless dance soundtrack and find a way to give it such a deeper, euphoric feeling. RIP Avicii.
