I carved 87 lbs of epoxy into a rainbow trout. I used bent lamination for the very first time and it turned out better than expected. I used a chainsaw and other tools to #powercarve this one of a kind sculpture. This was such a fun build! #Carving #woodworking

All the failures and problems with resin casting can be really discouraging, but its so satisfying to see you finally get it dialed in and have everything work exactly according to plan for the resin and wood. I love when expertise and planning turn into pain-free process. That curly maple is excellent. Beautiful sculpture, flawless execution. Great job.
  • @pewpewgun
imho this is probably your most beautiful work up to now. it looks amazing, the details, the sparkling, and the root as a stand leviates this to another level
  • @WaterjetChannel
Any and all "would you just look at it" clips are highly appreciated. Also the wonderful craftsmanship but also edbassmaster

This has to be one of my favorites so far. The metal fleck, the colors you choose for your laminates and the fins! The sum is greater than the parts. It is incredible.
  • @mattcavanagh5701
Even if this wasn’t for me it would easily be my favorite of your sculptures to date! Absolutely stunning! Thank you so very much!
  • @KleioChronicles
The change in jaw actually made it look better because of where the wood pops out with a deeper jaw curve. Those thin fins were nerve-wracking with how easy they could be damaged with a mistake but you managed 😂. The lovely base of wood really made the piece stand out, I was considering how you’d mount it as it’s such a unique shape.

There are people who never cease to amaze with their art and leave behind thousands of people who enjoy seeing the beauty created by their hands. And that's amazing. You're one of them, Blake. I really hope millions of people discover your channel and look forward to your every video as much as I do.
  • @davespangler9125
Blake these things just keep getting more beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. Side note - I really appreciate that you show your learning curve. Seeing that people producing incredible work like this are also still learning and making mistakes is very encouraging.

Absolutely beautiful. That metallic sparkle was spot on. Another great project in the books
  • You had me memorized from start to finish, and the final reveal took my breath away. The maple reflected in the convex top half of the body is so perfect, brilliant choice. This is such a stunning piece of art

your work with epoxy gets better and better every single sculpture! This trout looks amazing, what stunning natural wood colors combined with an untouched, wild piece of wood for the backdrop. You did amazing, can't wait to see what you do next.
  • @MrFeathers7
The trout looks amazing, the veneer sets it off ! I would love to see you carve a manta ray using the same concept with the veneer as the wings of the ray.
  • Looks incredible as always. I love that you try to get the little bits of detail in there too. I think the glitter works well for this fish but I hope you don't use it too often as one of the things I really admire about your sculptures is how clear they are. There's something almost magical about seeing a beautifully sculpted animal and yet you can see right through it to the wood. However, for this fish it really works and adds the water effect.
  • @Majesticwolfie
Oh my word......that is just absolutely amazing! The glitter you used gives it that perfect shimmery touch! Indeed that is a beautiful statue of a rainbow trout!
  • @johnnoble6989
You're a genius. Using water to test for leaks, using a winch to lift the thing... there's SO MANY resin workers and hobbyists that need to learn your lessons.
  • @rochelleuah
The finished rainbow trout took my breath away. Absolutely gorgeous, thank you for sharing the process.
  • @patriciaharkin1571
Wow, how awesome is this! The detail is amazing and that metallic sparkle really sets it all off. Great job.
  • @heavyshoulders
I think the “tiger stripes” effect is called chatoyance. Learned it from Damascus knife makers. Looks beautiful man! Awesome work!👊🏼

this carve is stunning, thank goodness for your brother adding his P.O.V adding the beak. Glad to see you using a winch to take the mould out of the freezer, in a previous video watching you picking up and out made my bad back scream at you, glad you were listening to that too. this carve has got to be one of my favourites too, now im just hungry. great job
