I'm so glad to see you include the children in the decluttering. One of the best skills a child can learn is sorting and classifying-- clean-up and organization is the perfect activity to build these skills.

This was the 1st time I actually got my kids involved in decluttering, and I got rid of so much more. The kids actually told me about a lot more toys they didn't want anymore. It was soo nice.
  • I haven’t seen your hair down in a while and it’s gorgeous. 😍 Thanks for creating calming and peaceful content. You’re such a safe space on the internet.
  • Have you considered donating the toys to a local children's hospital or have the kids gift their old toys to kids in need? My mom had us do that, and it really helped us to recognize how blessed we were. It also made it easier for us to let the toys go. 🧸 😊
  • One thing I like to do is keep any toy with tiny pieces (like puzzles) completely out of reach! It has eliminated A TON of mess!!!
  • If you put rubber bands around each of the puzzles boxes, you can store them upright without worrying the lids might come open!

My favourite part of decluttering videos is to see exactly what got donated out by people. It helps me reconsider my own item if I have the same. For example Sarah Therese decluttered the spare plastic layers from some of her spice jars and it took me another couple of weeks after seeing her do that to do the same with mine that I've been holding on for - literally for no reason for years. On the other hand my son didn't get a lot of use from the silver round metallic thing from the lovevery kit, so I was planning on donating that one, but it surprised me, that you kept it. Maybe other kids would appreciate it more so it might be worth keeping for another baby. In general toy/activity reviews would be great and hopefully easy content for you. Especially from a family who has multiple kids and experience with the toys from different personalities. Bonus points for reviewing some more popular or expensive items, that are always a thing to consider twice before purchasing ! :) I think this could be an easy backup video whenever you're at a loss. Bonus points for the kids doing it in a "haul" kind of way as Eloise used to do shopping with you <3 (PS: Theo looks soo much like Zach here!!) In other words, if you do still have the footage, I'd love to see a video of all the objects you parted with, even if it ends up being a short one. :) I think this every time I see a decluttering video from you, but today I am posting a couple hours after release so I decided to take my chances!! xD I also love seeing exactly what ended up where and don't mind seeing the standing around and trying different things. Love seeing how the home evolves bit by bit, including how the things - inevitably - get moved. My guess for example is that eventually you will find a different system for those puzzles from the chest (that area seems to have been a difficult one for quite some time) and something like pretend play clothes will end up there. We shall see.

Wow, THANK YOU for acknowledging the mental load toy organization and rotation takes. It's so worth it, but monthly it takes a whole day of lots of standing, staring, thinking and rearranging to make a good toy rotation work. You never hear or see that online.

For example Sarah Therese decluttered the spare plastic layers with holes from the spice jars she didn't use the layer with and it took me another couple of weeks after seeing her do that to do the same with mine. My son didn't get a lot of use from the silver round mettalic with wooden handle thing from the lovevery kit, so I will probably donate that one, but it surprised me, that you kept it. My daughter is 5 and I have started to bring out a group of toys (usually ones I know she isn’t very interested in) and say “okay, at least half of these need to be donated” and she’s pretty good about it since she gets to choose. We also don’t have as much room as you so she understand that her birthday month and Christmas month are both times we have to purge to make room for the new, which definitely motivates her.

It’s so easy to recover dry playdoh, not sure why everyone throws it out instead. Just add some water, close the lid and let it sit. If there was too much water, let it dry up a bit. 🤷🏼‍♀️
  • I LOVE decluttering and organizing videos!!! Such good motivation for me to start organizing my stuff again:) thanks!!!
  • I think the toys are more important to the parents than children. If those toys have not been played with in a while, then they are not important. Children don't even need toys for stimulation or creativity.
  • @Mlemarie100
We do a goodbye day. So once I pick the toys we’re getting rid of they get a day to play with them to say goodbye! Makes it easier.
  • Great video! I do miss your vlogs so much though! I always felt so inspired as a mom of three to see you tackle all that you do so gracefully in each season you walked through. I felt God using you as a guide to show people the true meaning of Christianity through parenting and homemaking. I hope you’ll consider coming back to that in the future when the time is right for you ❤
  • @lunab695
I don’t know anyone with as many baskets as you!!! I love how unique they all are!
  • Your cleaning, organizing, decluttering videos are such a blessing to me. Thank you! ❤
  • @puckjansson3375
I also stack the games and puzzles on their side like that but I keep a rubberband around each one to try to prevent chaos 😅
  • @katrinalau4137
I have been decluttering as well in anticipation of Christmas and the new year. I included my daughter and she was RUTHLESS! Hahah. I really love how she doesn’t hold too much value onto materialistic things and is willing to part with things no longer serves her. It’s the best! Not sure how my other kids will be in the future since they’re still toddlers, but hopefully we will continue in the same direction. Loved this video! 🥰
  • Omg the doll bottle with rocks I couldn’t help but think of Theo’s rock gift for Christmas and how excited he’ll be for it! So motivating there is nothing like a fresh declutter and clean! I also love the idea that you include them and let them know what you’re getting rid of and why, we’ll definitely be doing this from now on!
