Sia - Move Your Body (Official Audio)

Shakira's manager approached Sia and asked her to compose a song for Shakira's most recent album a couple years ago. Sia spent several months attempting to create a tune that resembled Shakira's style and vocal range, which is what led to the inception of Move Your Body. However, Shakira ultimately rejected the song because she felt it was too similar to the work that she had previously done. Sia was apparently hurt by the decision as she wrote the song specifically for her and no other artist wanted the song. As such, she recorded the song and included it on this album despite it not fitting in with underlying themes addressed by the rest of the songs. Such a shame that Shakira turned this down. I'll always wonder what could have been.

Everybody keeps saying that other artists shouldn't have rejected these songs. True, Sia's one of the most talented songwriters in the world, but for many songs in This Is Acting, I feel like other voices simply wouldn't do the lyrics justice.

Sia makes better music than most artist ..why is she so underrated?

Sia is one of the most inspiring singers. Her songs, her background story, etc. Everything about her gives me confidence. I love her songs. It keeps me motivated

Guys relax, Shakira writes her own songs, who cares if she didn't accept this song, it sounds GREAT with Sia's voice, my favorite song from the album
