Being healthy and not having to impress anyone; to me, that's total freedom.
  • I live in a van. Nomadic. 68 yrs old. 4 plus years now. Everything I own is in my van. It's not crowded. I have floor space. It's a simple life. I like it. Peace. A lot of people ask if it's hard? Uncomfortable? Hmm. Not really. It's actually nice to go to Walmart and see all the things I don't need or want. Nature is my spiritually. Thanks for this video.

I got married to a man that I love so deeply, quit my job physical job that I had for 17 years, sold my 2 houses, relocated to a beautiful state where I can go to the woods everyday. My husband is not rich but doing well for his self. I don't have to work and he pays for everything. I am 50 and have never been happier in my life. Surprisingly, every women that I know, white and black, has been angry that I got married and changed my life so drastically. They wanted me to struggle in the system with them. Women told me don't get married and to hold on to everything. I did the opposite and found a simple love and a simple life that makes me so happy. I love caring and loving my husband. It is a joy.

I grew up with my mother constantly telling me “rich isn’t the person who has more, but the person who needs less”. There’s different ways to interpret this but it wasn’t until I was about 30 that I finally understood this saying. A similar quote that my father used to tell me is “the urge to buy will consume you”. Thanks mom & dad

Something I learned the older I get is A LOT of people need drama and chaos. I think they don't want to have to think about what is going on in the world or their past or something so they need to be involved in everyone's business and always need to be thinking about the next thing rather than sitting and like, just existing for a day.

My goal is to keep simplifying my life and become more of a minimalist 👍

You dont have to go to extremes living the simple life. Once you realize you dont need much in life to live comfortably it is so freeing.

It seems life has turned into something like processed foods. Instead of just simply eating an apple it has to be boiled, puréed, add sugar, add preservatives and coloring, send it through a package line, and voila you have applesauce (and that’s probably a simplified version). I’ll just eat the apple, lol. I love your message. Simple is good!

Went to Ghana, bought a land, built my home, mortgage free, had a borehole installed so I have no water bill. Plan on getting some solar panels and starting my own micro enterprise selling items in a shop so I can really live on my own terms.

Finding peace should be the ultimate goal in this existence.

In my teens/20s, impressing people with flashy stuff was almost an obsession with me, and it made my life incredibly stressful. About 20 years ago, I had a sort of "awakening" and I took a much more utilitarian approach to buying stuff and got rid of the BS. I only buy what I need and look at them as tools, not possessions. My phone and laptop are old, but they're still good communication/information tools. My car is old but it's still a good transportation tool. Everything in my life is equipment to help me, not flash to impress people. My life has been 1000% better since.

Tim- I did it. I’m 95 days sober!! You’re a part of my journey. I got the water always on deck from you!

I enjoy driving the speed limit and often the car behind me is only 6ft away from my bumper and I think how grateful I am that I figured out that life is SO much better not being in a hurry. 😊

I'm 43 years old and am not married with children. My life has been hard enough trying to survive single. I don't own a house and rent a small room. A lot of people would probably think my life is boring. After all I've seen and done in life I'd say being bored is a luxury. There's no reason to complicate my life. If I had a kids and ended up divorced that would be a lot worse than my life right is right now. I've got a lot to lose too if I got married and divorced. My freedom is one of the most important things to me.
  • When your life is focused on achieving and getting things, you deprive yourself of your most precious asset: the present moment. Your are never enjoying your life in the now, paying attention to the birds singing, the sunset, how the warm water in the shower feels in your skin, the laughter of your children, etc. your mind is always somewhere else in what you don’t have and want. That’s the real hamster wheel. So much better to live simply, surrounded by nature that nurtures you and enjoying the now. I love my walks in nature, they are my walking meditation! 😊
  • This man knows the truth. Most people will never accept that truth.

Tim, I never shared this with you but I will now. I worked and lived in a large city for countless years, in highly stressful profession. I also had many personal possessions…6 properties, 2 paid for cars and a FT, very busy job. Many things pushed me into a new life, including watching your videos. Eventually I sold the properties, sold a car, downsized tremendously…to a 5x5 storage unit. I left my previous state after 20 years with a carryon and a backpack to travel the world slowly! What happened by default is that I create a whole new life for myself, beginning with where I live, what I drive, and the work that I do. I wake each morning and just smile in amazement! That’s what watching your videos have done for me. P.S. Also no credit card debt or student loans! I truly feel free!
  • I have lived a life of feeling worthless if I'm not busy. I'm finally letting that go. Your videos are helpful for this.
