  • This hits the uncanny valley. Both peaceful and unsettling somehow. The washed out music playing is like POST vaporwave.

Context: I've always been a fan of Vaporwave music & " A E S T H E T I C S " as well as Mallcore. I also enjoy abandoned spaces. I went to a large mall down the coast and filmed a few minutes of silence walking through the mall in POV fashion. There's no talking but the visuals and ambience to me I think is a calming background noise. A lot of Vaporwave art has been considered a commentary on retro advertisements and entertainment as well as taking and viewing vintage marketing with a sort of outside perspective. Sometimes nostalgic and the repurposing of retro adverts and media for modern creations has interested me. So this is a walk through a mall looking around. There were very few people in the mall and I tried my best to keep them off camera while drinking a cup of coffee and filming this video from my phone. Even listening to it in the background now after I upload it I feel a sort of whimsical sensation as if it has already aged years in time though it was filmed just a few short hours ago. Let me know your thoughts and stuff! Do you like vaporwave?
