Corrections: TIDAL does offer a free service that streams up to 160kbps (same as Spotify). TIDAL also offers lower sound qualities on the HiFi plan; 1411 is not the lowest quality.

One of the things Tidal is lacking is user playlists, I like the ability to discover playlists created by artists and users from Spotify, as well as sharing, collaborating, etc. Spotify has like over 1000 curated playlists, 4 billion + user/artist playlists, while Tidal just has like <500 curated playlists
  • Very informative video. Just tried Tidal for the first time after Spotify went down today. The music quality difference was immediately noticeable for me actually! I also really like how Tidal gives you TONS of song information, much easier to find composers or different artists on a track! Plus my student plan just expired on Spotify (I had been using it for over 4 years) so now Tidal is half the cost compared to Spotify for me! Really considering making the move

HIFI Plus also has a ranking system where the artist you listen to the most by the end of the month gets an extra 2 bucks.

I recently switched from Spotify to Tidal and Im very happy! The user interface, music discovery and curated playlists are better in my opinion. Spotify has become very unorganized and very Podcast driven. Tidal has a beautiful design and Im able to find all the music I want, they pay artists more and the customer service with Tidal is SO much better too!

Hey, not sure if you tested this but I have compatible 360 audio headphones and tried some songs out on them. I compared them to the normal hifi tracks and while tidal says i need a hifi plus sub to be able to listen in 360, the 360 tracks definitely sound much wider and 360 even when they say im playing in stereo. Is that suppose to happen?

Great presentation. I've been with Spotify back in the day, then tidal now back on Spotify as a shared account. I do miss tidal quality, everything is more musical and cohesive but you need decently resolving gear to hear it. The AI track playlisting is great in Spotify as is GUI and videos etc. I'm probably going to try tidal again for a bit though now! Just hifi, mqa does nothing for my ears
  • Great video! Spotify is a greedy corporation that cares all about the money and the algorithms. Really feel sorry for all the artists and labels releasing quality underground music. The latest outrage of "Spotify tracks in 2024 will need 1,000 streams before making money" made me finally move away, so now I'm a happy Tidal user.

I really like tidal,i think tidal has the better user interface compare to Spotify and higher quality.A good alternative over Spotify would by apple music but the app is not great on Android.

I appreciate everything you go over in the video. I'm considering ditching Spotify for the sole reason that their PC client is less and less usable with every update, and that their UI designers are blisteringly incompetent. It's the messiest, least user-friendly UI I've seen in recent memory, and as I wrote, it gets worse with every update. It is quite possibly the worst interface of any app on any platform in the history of computing, and I really don't want to continue paying them money if they're going to continue actively trying to sabotage my experience using their software.

No kilo bytes per second (kbps). It's kilo bits per second. There's a big diference on that. A Byte is 8 bits. And a Byte it's represented by a "B", a bit it's represented by a "b". So kbps means "kilo bits per second".

Useful information, thank you. Recently Tidal has added a free streaming service level. I’ve signed up for the $9.99/month HiFi service because I want to download music at the higher bitrate. I’ll mainly be playing in the car and I imagine the choice will be either to stream at the lower quality (which I could have had for free) or play previously downloaded higher quality material via Bluetooth. I’m getting a new Tesla next week (Tesla does not support Apple Carplay). I’ll see how it goes with Tidal.
  • I did like Spotify because of all the variety in user playlists. But now I have Tidal HiFi Plus... And on my JBL LSR 308 studio monitors with a 192KHz audio interface, the sound is so clean and smooth, I love it. Plus, I can link Tidal to DJUCED and use my playlists while performing on a DJ set which is very handy.

I tried Tidal and my library got cut into 1/4 of its size...

  • Hi. Amazing content. What are the app that you use to make your slides.?? Thx
  • i switched to deezer even though deezer is a bit more expensive than tidal in my country(malaysia) and most of the local songs on tidal are not much available compared to deezer besides deezer still offers quality hifi
