Jory, on the subject of why Magnemite is his favorite pokemon: "I think it's cute and I like that when they appear together it evolves it's just several of them stuck together like that. They have a fun dot eye and I remember in Pokemon Snap I liked the way the textures were done I thought it was really cute and charming. And, uh, I think that it's funny to me when a creature like that seems to be a biological thing but I'm not sure if it's metal or real or not kind of like the Transformers where I'm confused as to whether they're made of meat if they're a machine that came to life somehow. I think it's interesting that a creature with seemingly man-made parts would spontaneously generate in a natural environment the way they seem to in the Kanto region. I think that's funny. A-and they have a color palette that I find relatable because the blue and red is a nice contrast and the gray is that nice cool color that's used in those Sugimori water colors that I think is pretty and cute."
