    Many thanks for that, fascinating. Helped fill my gaping 4-decade-old knowledge gap and answered some questions I had when designing and making hang gliders back in the day. When we developed a new glider for release to the market, we always started with the 'medium' sized model first. When we were happy with the performance and handling of that, it was easy to scale up for the 'large' model without it developing handing issues. It was always the 'small' model that was tricky. A direct scaling down would result in twitchy handling with a tendency to tip stall. We would nod sagely muttering 'Reynold numbers....'
