Dave’s intro of “The demon code prevents me” is absolutely fucking perfect
  • I love how there is no third party in this rock off, so Beelzeboss just decides he was the winner

isn't it crazy how such a joke of a song for a movie scene ends up being one of the best sounding things ever.

I forget that jack black is actually a really good singer.

It’s my personal head cannon that that angelic choir you hear at the ending are angels assisting them in the rock off challenge

That falsetto run Jack hits around 1:37 always gets me, it's genuinely beautiful, it's like a sideways yodel or something lol. I come back to this just to hear that part

Their song was so good they managed to play the drums with just 2 acoustic guitara

4:13 to 4:49 this part gives me goosebumps every time, even after 15 years

4:25 I just need to point out the brilliance of this lyric: "You hold the scepter, we hold the key" The scepter is a common symbol of royal authority, especially during the medieval period. The key, on the other hand, is specifically a symbol of PAPAL authority. The pope was, in medieval times, basically the only position that had any sort of power over the monarchs of Europe (aside from other monarchs). So the line is basically Jables saying "I'll admit it, you're strong. But we're stronger." On top of that, this IS supposed to be the literal devil. So invoking a holy symbol like the key makes sense thematically as well.

Love how JB and Cage are vibing with the song grinning madly before the Devil reveals his sex toy collection

14 years later and I still know all the lyrics to this song by heart

"I'm the devil, I love metal" is such an amazing and powerful line. It shows the true writing genius behind the lyrics.
