It would be interesting to set up a History Museum of the place with the photos and potential items you found on the ranch

Food for thought, once you are up and running, track down the lady who cancelled her wedding and invite them to renew their vows.

If I hadn't seen the abandoned mansion series and known about his ability to run a vet clinic, demo ranch, build cars, flip houses and generally get stuff done I'd think he was just crazy. I still don't see how this will not take a decade or more, but I do believe he can do it.
  • Bottom line some may not notice is the man is building his legacy here on YouTube for our entertainment and man what a legacy this will be thanks as always
  • When the dust settles and the gardens are in bloom, I hope the first wedding will be Matt and Mere renewing their vows! : )
  • I don’t think people appreciate how well done your videos are. There is so much little detail that most people probably look right over.

“They let the horses run wild at night, and the man lights the campfire then leaves everyone to get back to their rooms in the dark, dodging the galloping horses.” 😂 Funniest review ever
  • Could you imagine if you found the woman that left the bad review about the bad wedding and gave her an amazing remarriage for free at the same resort. That would be an INCREDIBLE video.
  • It’s still crazy to me the abandoned mansion series actually took 3 years, it felt like only a couple of months. I’ve been a long time viewer of all your channels, and just like with the abandoned mansion very excited to see what you’ll do with this. Good luck to Matt and Mere, I’m sure you guys make a huge success of this project!
  • its insane how nature can take something back in just 20-30 years.
  • Did not want this episode to end. Really did the history of the place justice. Can’t wait for the next ep
  • Hey Matt absolutely cant wait to see what you do with the resort! One idea to throw out to you. When you're ready to start renovations why not reach out to the demolitia and generate your own renovation army of volunteers? Im sure your fans would love to assist you guys in making this dream a reality. Love what you do brother! Keep being awesome
  • One day when you get this project finished, how beautiful would it to be to have the Demolitia and all the previous guests from the photos come for the Grand Re-Opening and Matt and Mere renew their vows in the gazebo at the overlook, celebrated and supported by all your family, fans and followers!!!!

Everybody Pause for just a minute... This project will take years! Im sure, like me, you will be along for every episode. In the end we will think it went so fast and look how much this place had changed. Just like matt has a plan for this, do you have a plan for yourself? Im sure he has plan and will not be surprised when it gets complete. Make sure you have your plan you can be proud of and be able to look back and say wow time went so fast but look what we accomplished. Make your future self proud!

Just ran across this…and used to work at the ranch 1987-1989 when it was really nice. Helped build the rock walls, worked in the kitchen, and helped landscaping…and lived on property with my family who worked there as well. There’s a rich history, and it’s actually pretty great. Happy to share if you like. There’s a great write up in Texas Highways too…with some beautiful pictures and stories about the house, Walter, our chef Albert, and Mike/Maggie who managed.

Honestly, the history of the resort's different incarnations throughout the year only make it all the more appropriate that you and Mere should come along and make it spectacular! From a farm, to a juvenile jail, to brothel, to wedding resort, now gun resort. :D
  • @chivashect
Imagine after fixing it all up Matt and Mere could renew their vows here. Would make it really special place.
  • The history of this place would be forgotten COMPLETELY within 25 years if You and Mere had not taken interest. I love the vision!!
  • @srscrimiger
I've never been to Texas, but I would make the trip to stay there. Restoring those buildings would be an amazing story. Along with the horseback riding and other outdoor activities, you're gonna need a range somewhere on the property. Maybe even a walking archery range. If you build it, the Demolitia will come!
  • @PaxPixie
I'm really hoping you can keep the shell of the burned out stone building and turn it into a wedding/party venue. It feels and looks like the ruins of an old Texas fort like the Alamo. Clear out the debris, take down a few of the less stable walls, and plant grass (or sod) and set up a little platform for the ceremony and it would be an absolutely insane outdoor wedding venue. And the best part is you could easily have it ready to go by the time you re-open because it would only really involve demolition, not construction. Although you could put up a few beams to help define the space and stabilize some of the old walls. I would kill to have a wedding there once it's all finished!
