Telecaster to headless guitar conversion

Published 2021-08-15
Here I'm trying to revive a previous flawed project, no actual Fender telecasters were harmed in the making of this. One of the biggest flaws was the neck dive that made a guitar with a nice neck a complete misery to play. So with that and the complete crooked construction I decided to completely overhaul something that was going otherwise unloved.

Plus it was loads of fun to cut the headstock off :)

Oh, hey, I've got another channel now (well, I'm reviving an old one). This one has got really guitary - so I'm putting other projects on this channel there. If you care. If you don't that's cool, that's the point of splitting things up:

  • It's amusing to look back at projects. And think, how did I ever let that go through to the keeper!

Just so you know, my day job is repairing Fender guitars, and a little routing gap poking out the side of the bridge is way more common than you think. So don't be too hard on yourself.
  • A nice little project Chris. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

    Nice “little” project Chris.

You gotta do a headless horseman halloween guitar :)
  • @adairguitars
That would have been a very nervous moment cutting the headstock!

Ha ha so you were building small ‘travelish’ types of guitars while I was in nappies 🧐. Great video Chris looking forward to seeing how it turns out, anyway I’ve got to go and hole some drills 😂. Cheers Dave

I remember those tiny guitars. will be interesting to see if cutting off the headstock really cuts it, the weight ratio might still come out stupid enough to leave you with a headless neck diver.
