Been a Vet Nurse for 21 years and yes dealing with people is the worst part.

I'm a vet here in Chile and I can confirm. If you work in that area of the profession (treating primarily dogs and cats) one of the worst parts is dealing with shitty owners. Today I had two owners come asking for us to put down patients just because they couldn't/wouldn't pay for treatment or weren't willing to follow through with the indications needed for their pets to have an acceptable life condition. Sadly, if you don't have money, you can't really afford to have pets. Wish people would realize that someday.
  • I had a friend who was on a path to being a vet. Like so many other positions, the new guys get all the unwanted tasks. After 2 months of putting animals down DAILY at a large practice he told them where to go, how to get there and what they could do with the job when they got there.

I started going to college to be a vet tech, until I did a short internship where I witnessed similar situations to what you were talking about. It was at that time that I decided there was no way I could be a vet.
  • Anita you have never said anything I related to more. The fact that I would have their address after they acted that way...I would be in jail so fast.

It would have a bit of a a ring about it; 'The Tourette Vet'

So true. I couldn’t be a vet. I love animals too much. I would end up doing the surgery and giving the dog to someone who treats pets right

From what I’ve been told is that being a vet has it’s rewards. I don’t imagine there’s very many vets that went through all the schooling because they don’t love animals as much as we do. Those people actually put us to shame cuz they stepped up and did something to help a lot of animals
  • People are the reason I'm not a people person. Back when I was employable, I worked in manufacturing on the night shift. Fewer people around, and all I had to deal with were machines.

Same reason why I decided not to become a vet. Vets in Norway have a high suicidal rate because of the shit they have to see and do.

I worked in a vet hospital as a call center associate, and most of the calls I received from clients were complaints or just rude people in general. At one point, during my training, I had to tell my manager about a call I took where the client wanted to bring their dog in for a potential emergency. The client opted to go to a different hospital because I mentioned the fee for emergency visits (which we were supposed to disclose). Simultaneously, there was a client sitting in the room with us who was already pissed about having to wait. So when she spoke to the lead manager, she said we were talking shit about the client on the phone. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I loved working there and helping animals, but the owners make it so difficult to do our jobs.

This entire scenario sounds like it would be an AITA situation on Reddit! 😂 Hilarious! Also an origin story for a mortician😂

I worked at a Vet clinic when I was a teen as a janitor/dogwalker. The majority of pet owners are the nicest people you'd meet, but there were some horrible people too.
  • There is a film with this exact plot!!! It's called The Euthaniser or Armomurhaaja in Finnish, it's out there with english subs, I highly recommend!!

I couldn't be a vet for the same reason. I love my cats too much to not get them treated, they live better than me...little shits lol.
  • Just found out about you and how you are teaching us about this. So glad you have taught me about this so I can better understand what some people are handling in this life we are living.

Where did she get the idea that incels think women don’t go to prison? Prison rates of men vs women is something MRAs discuss and not all MRAs are incels.
