  • In 1984 I emigrated to Johannesburg in South Africa from the UK , I was a manufacturing jeweler, and after working for 10 year I got fed up with working for bosses ,I decided to start my own business as I was an expert in jewelry repairs I went round a lot of antique shops in Johannesburg and got my first client I did work for her on antique jewelry, she then asked If I could repair a silver coffee pot ,I said I don't know give it to me,went back to the workshop and did it, anyway that started my restoration business that I called The Repair Shop that was 28 years ago and at the age of 72 I'm still doing it, if someone has a repair that no one can fix it ends up in my work shop, I find the work deeply rewarding ,I love watching your show as I can relate to the work you do
  • This is far and away the best show on TV! These people are truly Master Artists.

The Repair Shop is YouTube in reverse ... experts all in one place rather than scattered over dozens of channels. Possibly the best television in the modern age ... as a glimpse into what you can experience on YouTube if you follow the right channels. The very best show will be sorely missed.
  • I get such pleasure from this program. They call it the repair shop but what is accomplished is full restoration. Talk about swimming against the current in this throw away society. This is now a world wide must view for millions of people. BBC, don't be like our CBC and kill popular shows. Love from Canada.
  • This Camera man, knows his stuff and the programme is so much more pleasant to watch and actually see what is being spoken about at the precise right time, really fabulous to watch. Well done Mr Camera man. People with Epilepsy or Migraine can watch and enjoy this perfectly.
  • The repair shop is one of my favorite shows on t.v. nowadays! ALL of the repair shop specialists are awesome but there’s one who jumpes out for me! One person whose work goes beyond craftsmanship and enters the realm of magic and that’s Kirsten, the ceramics lady! What she does is often unbelievable! Getting a plate or statue that’s in pieces and restoring it in a way that you often don’t even see the cracks or damages anymore! It’s truly magical!

Only ten I can think of at least twenty to thirty more. I love all the stories the behind the item that are brought into the repair shop

I have a few favorites - the small writing desk that was damaged in a burglary (Will), the bulldog ceramic (Kirsten), the Victorian outdoor lamp (Dom), the Louis Vuitton trunk (Susie), the large self-propelled model boat (Steve), the valuable painting that kids poked holes in (Lucia), the Wurlitzer jukebox, a pair of Dutch caned and upholstered chairs (Sonaz), and on and on!

It is a shame we don't have an "American equivalent" for The Repair Shop. I found the show on Netflix and was just so fascinated by the premise of the show, how they do the repairs, and the end results. That and the reactions show that the items that are brought in are more than just "trinkets" as they can range from family heirlooms to simple toys that have high value.

The restorer of Number 7 - he’s a pinball wizard!

for all of you wanting to watch the show, at least five seasons are available to watch right here on youtube.
  • @SoTypicallyMeh
if youre not gonna show the end results or at least link to photos/videos of them elsewhere, what's the point of this list?
  • @sazfretz1945
I wish I could find a site that streams all the shows. I saw a few episodes on Netflix, and a few of the restorations on the list I saw them do on the show. I love the show I love the memories it brings up for the people with the heirlooms and when the restorations touch the restorers, too. If I could have any one of my possessions restored, it would be my late father's 1940s Epiphone guitar (including the case!). It's so beautiful with its F holes and raised pick guard.

I was really looking forward to the final restorations? Why did you not show it? You should do one restoration from beginning to end in one video. Its a bit like showing us a wrapped present but not unwrapping it 😂
