I want to keep in mind that your style is what you wear every day. It's not three words, it's not a fantasy self, and it's not a Pinterest board or a wishlist of garments-to-be, but rather the clothes you put on your body each day. This year I intend to make sure my theoretical style aligns with the way I actually dress.

Thank you for feeling safe enough with this community to share such difficult personal details, Alyssa. I admire your energy, your style and your committment to your slow fashion ethics. My mantra this year is 'to be brave and to be bright'. I've been a 'black, navy, grey and white' girl for as long as I can remember, but I'm going to be 60 this year and want to embrace it - the bravery and brightness are as much about personal energy as about getting out of my fashion rut and my aim is to move into this new decade without apology - that's the theory, anyway :)
  • I decided to wear things that I’m unsure about. Did it today with a dress actually, it made me realize that I want to donate it. It seems that I have to wear something for A WHOLE DAY before I can decide how I truly feel about it. 😂 Gonna do it at least once a week as a way to start decluttering this year. So far I’ve removed 3 garments that someone else can enjoy.

Dear Alyssa, My heart and prayers go out to you regarding your divorce. I have wondered over the last year because the background changed, and you never mentioned your husband anymore, plus your rings were gone. I love your channel, your creativity, and your spirit ❤️. And of course you experimented with your style! You had to figure out who you were now, as a single woman! I went thru the same after my divorce. May your new year be blessed with joy, health, abundance and love ❤️ .

While I am sorry about your divorce, I am so happy to see you more authentically yourself. You seem lighter, more you. Thank you for always bringing quality content even when times are tough. I wish you nothing but the best for 2024 and I am going to be here for a long time, growing with you. For my wardrobe, I love the juxtaposition between modern, almost futuristic cuts and styles while having the "classic" base of red lips/nails, glossy waves, and classic, clean skin and makeup. I am 52 and looking forward to moving from my "comfortable professional" phase into something a little more adventurous. Great video, merci beaucoup.

I am retired 5 years now from 25+ years in corporate law - After experimenting with oh so many "fun" styles, I have settled back where I belong! Classic, tailored, simple - my 3 words and I couldn't be happier with my curated closet and I am sure the thrift shops are happy with all my donations! Thank you for all you do and may 2024 be a fabulous year for fabulous you!

I'm doing a just five "new" things this year and it's already (one month in) a game changer for me. No constant browsing, no thinking about what to buy, no hassling with returns. If I'm only getting 5 new things for the year, they have to be amazing, and can also be more investment type pieces than I would let myself buy in the past. I think this may be a way of life for me as eventually over time I'll have a tiny wardrobe of just the most intentional pieces. Divorce is hard, I've been there, but it can also be a transformative time to reevaluate all your priorities and intentions for your life. I hope the year brings you joy, peace and clarity.

I recently downsized my life....really....everything! Left the big house behind, etc. So that meant downsizing my wardrobe. Last week I actually pulled everything OUT of my closets. Did the usual... What I do wear, What I don't and need to donate, and put those rare occasion clothes in the air tight bags and stored away. Then I organized one part of the closet for everyday casual, the other side for dressier days. It seems to work better that way for me! LOL....left side "I'm staying home", right side "I'm going out!"
  • @Camikintana
My intentions are 1) to dress in a way that makes me feel empowered every time I leave the apartment 2) to celebrate my body rather than hiding/disguising it 3) take good care of the pieces in my wardrobe so that they'll be with me for many years!
  • @mf3610
I’m welcoming my first baby soon so my style goals are to have patience with a new, changing situation and focusing on loving my body’s changes through it all
  • @FreshGrey-pm4vw
I just find that as I get older I have so more fun enjoying my wardrobe. Every season I experiment with different colors now that my hair is silver and I love wearing cool colors now. I have been having a great time with berets and scarves. Its good to embrace wherever you are in life.

So sorry to hear that 2023 was difficult for you, here’s to a happy, healthy and fulfilling new year for you and everyone else.l look forward to seeing what you come up with this year.
  • @AlexLouiseWest
I hope this year is much better for you. I can relate to the need to reset after drastic life changes as my husband died last January after a long illness. I am gradually reclaiming my natural-ethereal singer/ singing teacher identity and moving away from distraught, exhausted, dishevelled carer role. It’s a long, hard process made much easier by your videos.
  • @user-oi9yp8fy7j
Wishing you all the best. Loved, loved your "bombshell" descriptor. As someone who is 40 years post divorce, i know the first period can be challenging, such a sense of loss. But you radiate such wonderful energy and beauty. I am truly content now with 2nd husband who gave me 2 great kids. My intentions for the year are to be more grateful and generous. Sending love to the lovely Alyssa. ❤
  • I've been grieving and let myself fall into a whatever mood with my clothes. My intention is to pick 3 outfits for the winter that acknowledges my heart without having to care about style
  • @brendaashton6428
My 2024 words are Inspiration, abundance, and gratitude. I tidy my closet regularly, refresh it seasonally, and track outfits for 2 week blocks randomly throughout the year. I shop exclusively second hand. This year my goal is to raise the quality level and focus on core neutrals that ALL work well together. My style has also been clear from a young age. My words are elegant, crisp-fresh, form fitting. My lifestyle is ActiveCasual, Dressy for church and date night! Watching your video and writing this comment has really helped me to focus in on these ideas.
  • @contempl8ive
Thanks for the ideas. My intentions are to shop my closet with inspiring street styles from my Pinterest board, experiment more, and wear everything at least twice and consider altering/repurposing it before chucking it out.
  • Happy 2024! Your line about wearing button ups since age 5 made me laugh out loud. 😂 I’m approaching this year with a mindset of plenty so that a no/low buy feels intentional rather than restrictive. I also organize my closet seasonally and create seasonal mood boards. It’s a great way to visualize outfits and have fun.
  • @jessmcg4438
After the birth of my daughter (who is going to be 5 very soon), I kinda lost my personal style. I was living in leggings and sweatshirts (Covid didn't help), and focusing completely on her and really nothing on me, which is not a healthy mindset. I've spent the last year and a half trying to find my style again and letting myself feel ok with being more than just a mom. Thanks for helping me on that journey. One of my challenges for myself this year is to make 75% of the clothes I buy second hand. I always joke that 75% of my wardrobe is thifted, but this year I'm tracking it and shooting for that goal. Also, when thrifting, shopping with specific items in mind and not just buying random things I find because "it's only $5, why not".
  • @liligirl00
Alyssa, I have always thought that you are so beautiful. However, you are absolutely STUNNING in this video. You seem happy, relaxed and at ease in a home environment that truly reflects your unique style. It’s so nice to see you in your own place and with all the space you need for you and Apollo. I’m so happy for you because you deserve all the goodness and blessings. 😊
