Toxic Chemicals To Avoid

The best terrorist is the one you don’t see coming.

Do either of these headlines concern you?
Hundreds of chemicals in everyday consumer products may increase breast cancer risk
Companies fight to keep consumers in the dark about chemicals in cleaners

Toxic Household Cleaners

Today, our home is filled with unrecognized terrorists. It comes in as innocent fragrances, whiteners, and soaps. Our bodies respond, but we have not been aware of the cause.
Products and ingredients can cause multifaceted levels of harm to everyone in the family.
We would never open our doors to a biochemical weapon, yet, by using toxic products we have done just that.

Here are some symptoms caused or exacerbated by these chemicals.

Allergies
Anxiety
Asthma
Birth defects
Brain fog
Burns of the eyes and skin
Cancer
Depression
Diarrhea
Digestive upset
Dizziness
Fainting
Hormonal issues - all ages
Kidney damage
Learning disabilities for all ages
Liver damage
Mental fatigue, confusion
Migraines
Nervous system disorder
Toxic gasses

These symptoms are alarm bells to help us wake up to the toxic possibilities for everyone.

Yet, we need to clean our homes, clothes and the environment.

Toxic Ingredients In Cleaning Products

“Hundreds of these chemicals are legally allowed for making these products in the U.S. but that approval doesn’t mean they’re safe for people exposed to them.
The study, published in Environmental Health Perspectives, identified 921 commonly used chemicals that are linked to breast cancer risk. The paper identified chemicals that have been either linked to mammary gland tumors or increase certain hormonal activities that may result in forming tumors, or both.

Many of the 921 chemicals are also endocrine disruptors, which can harm reproduction and development of the nervous system. The study also found 92 percent of the chemicals can harm or change our DNA.” www.ewg.org/news-insights/news/2024/01/companies-f…

Harmful Chemicals In Cleaning Products

Although there are over 921 toxic ingredients in household cleaners, here are a couple to enlighten you to the effects.

MIPA-borate has been linked to hormone disruption. MIPA-borate can be found in many Lysol brand disinfectant sprays, including LYSOL Disinfectant Max Cover Mist, Brighter Horizon, LYSOL Disinfectant Max Cover Mist, Fresh Beginnings, LYSOL Disinfectant Max Cover Mist, White Sales & Ocean Breeze, LYSOL Disinfectant Spray Lightly Scented, Adirondack Cool Air Scent and LYSOL Disinfectant Spray Lightly Scented, Crystal Waters Scent.

Ammonium hydroxide is a caustic inorganic base, also used in many Lysol disinfectant products. It has been linked to asthma and respiratory issues, severe skin allergies and irritation,
Even when using cleaning products as directed, they can release hundreds of chemicals into the air.

They should not be allowed to sell these products.

Baking soda is a great hard water softener and deodorizer when doing laundry, no fabric softener needed.
  • Include avoiding scented plastic trash liners. It's saturated with scent. Nasty stuff.

Say NO to Fabreeze !! It is everywhere, people think they are cleaning when they spray Fabreeze on something. My lettuce from the grocery smells like it; the air outside smells like my neighbors Fab eeze dryer sheets; the seats in the restaurants smell like Frabreeze . The construction workers wife washes his clothes and He smells like Fabreeze. I like soap and water and God's fresh air.
  • I have always been a person who believes in using bleach to keep floors clean and toilets. I have OCD and to me there seemed no other way to get your house clean. a few weeks ago i started getting problems with my lungs and it hurts everytime i breathe in. I had to go to the hospital. And i got medication to fix it but now everytime i use bleach or any floor cleaner with a scent my lungs get those pains again. Also i never really heard of the importance of avoiding certain chemicals. This was proabbly the only video. Which is kind of upsetting. I have decided to get rid of all these chemicals in my house and just use vinegar and baking soda until i find more alternatives. Thanks so much for this video!

Yess get that truth out there!! I only use vinegar...peroxide... castile soap..amd baking soda to clean my whole house. I also use vinegar in a spray bottle as a hand sanitizer in my truck☺️

A family member had COPD and could NOT walk down the laundry/bleach isle! They could not breathe if they did. Also had a friend start a house cleaning service. She started getting sick. It was the cleaning products that was making her sick. She went to using natural products and her problems went away!!!

It shouldn’t be this hard. We live in a toxic world, more toxic than we can actually imagine…
  • @wakomikro
Bleach. That got me. We mostly use vinegar and baking soda to clean.
  • @renmuffett
Actually good old fashioned soap, that was used back in the 50s made your clothes soft feeling, no purfums. My mom didn't use detergent.
  • Annette, thank you for sharing this important topic. Just use vinegar and water it cleans wonderful. Please also with summer coming could you do a tutorial on sun screens and lotions that are bad for your health!

It truly is amazing how a lot of the younger ladies and anyone actually that use air fresheners in their homes and cars that are so toxic and of course the HIGHLY SCENTED LAUNDRY PRODUCTS. I buy my clothes at thrift stores and a lot of the ladies clothes are smelling like laundry soaps ( very scented ) and even after many washes they still smell scented. Not good!! 👍👍☮️☮️

POV: The Glade Plugins in Daycare Facilities is criminal.
  • This is an AWESOME psa. I've been living this way for over 15 years. I also do not use deodorant, soap only on the palms of my hands, certain shampoo every 3-4 weeks, glass dishes, cast iron pans (no teflon or forever chemicals), no microwave (makes food toxic), no perfume, no antibacterial, and I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting. I use a steam cleaner on my floors.
  • @HildaRealtor
a few months after going fragrant free, my sense of smell got really strong, never realized how much chemical we put to our bodies everyday; the same way I went no added sugar, now can taste added sugar without reading the label.
  • @COWELLGIRL
Amen on the fragrance, any kind as in perfumes, colognes , cleaning , etc
  • @leey1579
