They did the right thing. They didn't witness it - they HEARD something that sounded iffy, possibly dangerous and called for help. If they had just charged in there is no guarantee that they COULD HAVE saved her or that THEY wouldn't have added to the number of VictimS

Depends on the situation, in the first place I would not have given my daughter permission to go alone, much less go into a strangers house. In the case of the people calling the police, they did the right thing.

This is why you yell that there’s a fire instead.
-
Good Samaritan laws, dont require you to risk your own safety.

My guess at the motive was sexual. She wasn't having it and threatened to call the cops.

You can't just charge in somewhere where you have no idea what is going on. It could have been anything, it could possibly be someone acting like they need help just to lure you in to do whatever horrible thing they want to. It's so sad but unfortunately you can't trust anyone. Even if someone did need help & you rush in to the unknown, now you could possibly need help. Who's going to call for help now? When the police do get there to help, now they don't only have to save the original person but you as well. Best thing to do is call for help & give the most information you can.

If i had a weapon and knew how to fight i might have done something

Absolutely... Never a question for me my entire life. I'm 64 now & will never stop. God is my Boss & I'm not getting fired.
-
I've been in that position and I intercede knowing the risk. I can't live with cowardice and already know I won't live forever.
-
Hell no, thats lookin for trouble, the cops get paid for that shit
-
If you are physically able, yes. You should do anything you can to help the victim.
-
Call the police, stand outside the house and yell to the bum that the cops are around the block
-
If anyone doesn’t want trouble with the law. Stay out of it. Call the cops. The law is cruel.
-
If you have means to stop the situation right then without a doubt but if you don’t think you can do anything or have the psychical or mental fortitude to do so then stay silent and report it to the proper channels whatever those may be.

Easily my religion demands it
-
I would have to agree with the comments I've seen so far, I wouldn't feel comfortable charging into the situation because I don't know how to fight. ❤❤❤

Being from Texas we are a bit more concerned and well armed, I would go in.
-
That's a very hard question. There are so many variables I wouldn't be able to choose one answer.
-
I would have. No way I could live with that on my conscience.
