As a Dutchman and as a supporter of Femke Bol I really don't like this kind of video. Femke Bol had a great season in 2023, and also the first months of 2024 and it is clearly Bol who has the momentum right now, and it is up to McLaughlin to show where she stands after 1.5 year of absence. But ms Bol is also a very humble and down to earth person, and she has great respect (!) for Sydney McLaughlin, as she has said several times. This kind of pumped up video with Swolen AI voice is completely NOT her style.

Either you are click baiting or have no perspective on athletics, while femke has had a wonderful year so far and ran some fantastic times and without doubt the best active runner in the world 400 hurdles/ flat, Sydney has all the achievements that defines a generational icon: Olympic champion, world champion and multiple times world record holder by a long way from the previous mark. Even femke would be mindful not to be as bold as your headlines because she is also respectful and classy

Should be a great race in the Olympics, I'm a brit but will be hoping Femke takes it 🤞
-
I keep hoping someone can put together a fact based video that is based In reality and I keep getting disappointed. The reference to Femke destroying Sydney's ego had me laughing.
-
This is a terrible Head Line. Stop this stupid stuff!! They are both supreme athletes give them the respect they have both earned!!
-
Break Sydney’s record then you will be the best
-
The top race of the upcoming Olympics in Paris, hands down! No other race in any Olympic sport will match this race!
-
It's simple arithmetic, you are better when you run faster. Thank you Track and Field for making it so easy.
-
They're both great athletes and the only way to determine who is better is in a head-to-head duel. The interest is high, of course, since Femke has been improving while Sydney has been out with injury. But Sydney and her team are very calculating and I'm quite sure she will be at her best when the Olympics rolls around.

Sydney is my favorite runner. Bol is amazing. I am rooting for Sydney but will not be disappointed if Bol wins. I would really like to see them go 1 2 at the Olympics but we do not know what other countries will have!
-
Sydney is only seven MONTHS older than Femke. About the same age. They have at LEAST TWO MORE OLYMPICS before they succumb to age. Looking ahead to 2028 AND 2032

I just don’t see McLaughlin getting beat at the Olympics. I would like to see Bol give her a scare.
-
Dexter Gordan, I am a fan of both runners. They are amazing talents. AI doesn’t know what he is talking about. Until Femka actually beats Sidney in either race or both races Sidney has to be the favorite. Can’t wait to see them in the Olympics. Good luck ladies!

To be the BEST you gotta BEAT the BEST!!!!!USA

Femke Bol is better at exactly WHAT, than Sydney McLaughlin? Being tall? Who has the better PR at the 400 meter hurdles, at the outdoor 400 meters, and even at the outdoor 200 meters. There is only ONE outdoor hurdle World Record holder and Olympic champion in this conversation.
-
Don't get too far ahead of yourself there. YOU simply don't know, NO ONE knows who will win which ever race. Men or women's, no matter the event.
-
Hi warren from Australia I can't wait for this clash. I'm hoping they both do the double that would be something else.
-
Je crois que Femke et Lieke vont faire du ménage aux JO de Paris, en athlétisme.

Bol started on the hurdles in 2019. McLaughlin started on the hurdles 2014. So Mc Laughlin has 5 years of headstart on the hurdles. Yet in 2023, with 4.5 years of experience Bol ran a 51.45 which is faster than the 51.46 that McLaughlin ran to get the Gold at the Olympic Games in Tokio, with 7.5 years of experience.

I am a fan of both Sydney and Femke. I admire that Femke shows up for races, and how hard she works not just for herself but for her team. But it would be unwise to assume that Sydney's absence from some of these events means she is falling behind. We'll find out soon enough.
