Should We Be Worried About The Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster?

I genuinely think they had to change Larry’s look completely because it had to have been impossible to make a 4K model of Larry based on the original that isn’t horribly offensive and racist. Like I was a bit on the fence about how he looks in the original, orange yellow skin and his eyes don’t even open and missing front teeth is basically an early 2000s offensive Asian stereotype lol it probably wouldn’t have been a smart idea to depict Larry that way today especially with the hate crimes against Asians that happened not too long ago. However this new Larry look seems really interesting and as someone said in a Reddit thread that he actually looks like someone who works for the willamette mall butcher shop instead of og Larry who looks like he just kinda wandered in and started cutting meat lol

IMO a character's voice actor is the most important part. It's like a fingerprint. TJ is Frank West.

OK so someone was talking about this the other day about Larry and apparently things are ULTRA Strained between China and Japan at the moment so the guess is Capcom didn't want to rock the boat and that's why they changed Larry.

I think it's going to be good, I just don't think I'm going to play it nearly as much due to the weird character art style change and voice acting.

If they make a movie adaptation of Dead Rising 1, you better make a cameo as Aaron. Also, remake looks lit

I remember during one of your streams when you were talking about why Larry was so great about him being a Chinese immigrant as well as the irony of the entire situation that Carlito found himself in. Glad to see your take on it. It looks like they were trying to make him into your average everyday butcher that you would me at your local butcher shop lol Also he looks a lot like AL from Toy Story 2. 😂

Unless they secretly plan on delisting the original then theres no need to worry

Things I don't like: Franks new model looks weird The trailer putting a weird humorous spin on this game (This game is DARK when you pay attention to it, and putting a jazzy tune feels out of place tonally) No TJ, TJ doesn't make or break it, however he made Frank West feel like an average guy. This new VA seems a bit hammy for a "Journalist who is thrown into a terrifying situation and told to survive". Things I like: Literally everything else

Tbh I'm a little bit worried. I loved DR 1 because Frank was such a cool guy .. the voice and looks in the original fitted him perfectly in my opinion. Now he looks like shit and the voice just doesn't come of as cool as in the original .. of course gameplay (hopefully) will be great but a big part of the likeability of the original came from Frank. Still I hope this game does well because I just love the franchise. Even bought the xbox one instead the ps4 back then just because of Dead Rising 3

3 things that they should never of changed Terence J. Rotolo as frank and the original hud the arrow showing you the way was just perfect and time management having all of your objectives cluttered on the screen is messy and being able to fast forward time ruins the time management experience and simplefys the difficultyof the game.

OG frank look locked behind preorder is scummy, but im cautiously optimistic despite no TJ
