Great review! Love how you covered interesting parts of Changi as well!
  • Interesting review. I've been flying SIA since the 80s and have seen a significant drop in the quality of service on the ground and in the cabin (with some exceptions, of course). Along with most, I am not a fan of their business class seat. It's an odd setup with a narrow footwell that can be quite awkward. I've also found their IFE is behind class leaders in that area like Qatar and Emirates. The food in business has generally been good. Book the Cook makes a big difference in quality whether in Suites, business class, or Premium Economy. And Changi Airport -- it continues to amaze. The first time I flew into it long ago it was great. And it has only gotten better with every successive year. The Jewel is really something to see. Nonetheless, I'll be back on SIA soon because their nonstop from SFO is a good route, and their produce and service are still leaps and bounds better than what UA offers on the same route. I have to ask, what's wrong with the audio? Lots of noise in the background, buzzing noise that is not from the aircraft, and your narration sounds like it was done on a speaker phone.

Thank you for sharing your long-haul trip. it is nice to have Business Class on those long flights.

Iā€™ve flown this product a few times to multiple countries and love SIA business (and first). When I flew, they didnā€™t have amenity kits, but nice to see they are giving them out now. I rate their service too - as someone who likes wine, they keep an eye out and top up when needed. For ultra long haul, I immediately put the seat into bed mode, hunt for a second blanket to act as a mattress and settle in. Even have all my meals in that mode! Nice and snug.

Awesome video. I just did the NY to Changi and back business class on the A350 ULR. Their services were awesome. Love that the seats turn into beds, was so comfortable for that 19 hrs flight!

Singapore Airlines fan here. The reason you see mostly widebody jets in Changi is that we're a tiny country with no domestic market. The flights that operate out of Changi are all international. There are some A320s and B737s for sure, but most jets are widebodies.
