Everybody just collectively heard the first 4 notes in their head upon seeing the thumbnail.

Exposed main motiff actually was different than the beginning one. The track starts with the starting part of descending motiff, while the exposed part has it ascending. So you were actually right.

and Sans is such a appealing character, you dont need anything, just the first 30 seconds and a still image of him, is enough to hook and sink anyone

Not a marching band cover, though if you want to check it out on your own time there's an Undertale 5th Anniversary Orchestral concert you can find on YouTube. Megalovania is time-stamped near the end and it was really cool hearing all of these tracks translated to real instruments 😊

megalovania and most of the Undertale soundtrack have been played in an orchestral concert, you should check it out! (not saying it was recorded with an orchestra but like, there was literally a 3 hour orchestral concert where they played the best of the undertale ost)

I'd say there's easily half a million covers, let alone remixes, let alone covers and remixes of remixes.

Fun fact: This isn't the first version of Megalovania. The first version of the song (MeGaLoVania) appeared in the Earthbound Halloween Hack (also by Toby Fox) as the final boss theme. It's a bit different, so please check it out. It follows the final boss telling the players this: tl;dr: eat shit, [homophobic slur] Also, Megalovania has a ton of remixes, though imo the best one is where sans forgets how the song goes.

I have been waiting for this video for a long time for 3 reasons. 1.- I really respect your opionion, because you can take something complicated, disect it and explain it to a level that anyone can understand it. 2.- So much going on in this song, and I wanted an explination. 3.- This chanel makes me learn. A song so iconic it got into Super Smash Bros! Actually, I really like that version especially as it sneaks in a couple little references to other Undertale songs.

It's funny how you mention the groove is like a file save, since you need to save a file before fighting Sans. (And also file saves become important in the story)

Omg I heard something f o r t h e f i r s t t i m e that I've never heard before with this tune, at 08:00 - deep right channel; bottom scoop of the sound staging - it was a three second lick of alto horn-like freestyling and sounded like a variation on the intro melody as an additional layer during that percussion focused segment... Seriously - I have never heard that three second lick before and it was while listening with my Meze 99 Classics. I've listened with various other entry-level audiophile monitor earphones, but this lick REALLY stood out with the closed-back Mezes. **EDIT looks like you caught it the second time around, also 😅 Toby Fox is a bona fide genious

This was covered by a Marching Band back in 2021, video is still available i think. check video game show from Iowa State Uni, about 5 minutes in.

Always a banger despite being memed to hell, also I think you somehow got a double looped version. I'm sure many have said already, but I do very much recommend the 5th anniversary orchestra, even if it's not quite what you were looking for it's quite an experience.

So happy you reacted to Megalovania! Such a great song in this game! Another Undertale song I recommend is ASGORE (Play Bergentrückung as it's the intro to the song). It's another good boss theme in the game!

As others have said, checking out the anniversary orchestral concert is a must! I would especially recommend watching it if you play Undertale (and after you finish it if so) because it will have much more significance relating the themes back to the in-game experiences.
