This is America now??

We've all seen how homeless camps have made our big cities much worse. Well, it's even happening in our small resort towns. I went to Michigan's Traverse City to find out more.

The most important issue debated in Congress currently is funding for overseas wars, not helping our citizens at home.

As a French guy, i can see our future here. We are going the same way. Our leaders are trash, poor west.

Homeless people everywhere in the USA. It shows we already are in a DEPRESSION, not a recession.

Even when i was homeless i was clean and well presented. No excuse unless u are strung out on drugs.
  • It really disgusts me to see how taxpayer money is pissed away on bullshit, when we have this going on everywhere.

I just spent seven months crossing the country, seeing every state and almost every major city. This is happening and it's worse than people can imagine.

Actually, the high cost of housing is a leading cause in homelessness, which in turn is starting to ruin America, along with all the other problems!!!
  • This is really sad to see. The number of homeless is shocking. I'm from Norway, and I've never seen anything like it. Even though we in Scandinavia have private property rights, an open market economy and among the world's highest wages, we don't leave anyone behind in the mud like this.

All those dystopian movies in the 1980s, are now documentaries.
  • I make $25 as a saw operator for a major metalworking company and I’m sleeping in my car economy’s real rough

It's the Mayor's, Governor's,and the City Consels, destroying the resorts, town's and Cities.

Wr do not need resort towns, we need towns where people can afford TO LIVE WHERE THEY WORK.Currently paying more than half of paycheck for a run down efficiency where I make 200$ too much to qualify for ebt. This is ridiculous.

They are wiping out the middle class. The big problem is that wages do not match the rate of inflation. Seeing houses in the ghetto that use to cost around $100k or less now costing up to 200k.

Scary. My God. The United States is dying right before our eyes in real time.

I live in TC...I'm very aware of what it's like in the Pines...there's also a lot of other tent camps sprinkled behind your favorite restraunts and stores...

Nick, go check out Sedona Arizona where the workers are forced to live in designated parking lots in their vehicles because nothing is affordable. Yes, they work fulltime.

Stop institutional investors buying all the single family homes and turning them into rentals and driving up home prices and rents!

I’ve seen pictures like this before. When I was in school and we were studying the Great Depression of the 1930’s. They were called Hoovervilles after the failed policies of another inept President Herbert Hoover.
