  • Andras Schiff is between the most sensual contemporary Schubert interpreters, so he is my prefered nowadays.
  • Sir András Schiff is simply extraordinary! Every note is so clear and played with a superb feeling. Schubert would adore him. I do too.

I remember. The first time I heard these pieces, also played by maestro Schiff, I felt in love with them.

Very beautiful. Every note clear. Love that Bösendorfer.
  • This is the ultimate Schubert! Never has he been so final about anything. The absolute end.
  • I'm going to see him at Carnegie in about a week. I hope he plays the Bosendorfer 280VC as he did in this performance. If not, I gather he plays a well-prepared Hamburg Steinway. Either case, I'm looking forward to a real treat.
  • Props to Doug Decker! Sound is clear as day!

The recording he perhaps 20 years earlier--before he became "Andras Schiff"--is not "mannered" as this one tends to be at times and is more naturally and deeply felt. This performance is still way beyond the rest of today's pianists. I never miss a Schiff recital in NYC even though I now live over 300 miles away. 9:58

Diuen que Schubert era un home amb una vida molt bohèmia. Malgrat tot, la seva genialitat la demostra en aquesta joia
