In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.
  • It’s difficult to explain to someone who doesn’t like LotR like I do just how much this series means to me. But then I read the comments and see that other feel the same way and I know that I’m finally home.

"Concerning Hobbits" was the song I played as I walked down the aisle on my wedding day in the backyard, on the grass under the trees. Happiest day, happiest song. Every time I hear it I can close my eyes and remember holding my father's arm as I passed family and friends on my way to my husband's side. Perfection.
  • This is something Game of Thrones can’t give you. A sense of going home to a place you’ve never been to. Coziness, safety, reassurance. Old friends you’ve dreamed about meeting.

Gandalf singing is the most soothing thing I've ever heard. This trilogy is truly a wonderful gift.
  • Why do I feel like I'm missing something, a sense of longing, everytime I listen to this music? Its like I miss a place, a Home, I've never even seen... Anyone else feels like that?

It's amazing to miss a place you've never been to.

I just want to take a moment to appreciate what a brilliant composer Howard Shore is. This music was my internal soundtrack for the better part of a decade, and it has never once felt overplayed in the years since. Thank you for putting this mix together!

It's the middle of the night, I have homework to do, and I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes and a heart so full it almost aches. I'm homesick for a place I've never been and a world that isn't even real. Stories can be so beautiful and have the power to touch something so deep within us, and Tolkien's work stands high above the rest.

I heard the first few notes, Gandalf began humming, and I was instantly overwhelmed with emotion and began to cry. Thank you for offering a chance to relive this beautiful experience.

It's been 20 years since the Fellowship of The Ring was released and it still has one of the greatest soundtracks ever!

“My dear Frodo!” exclaimed Gandalf. “Hobbits really are amazing creatures, as I have said before. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month, and yet in a hundred years time they can still surprise you!”

I have been lucky enough to visit Hobbiton in New Zealand - I was nearly crying the entire time I was there. :')
It felt so real and alive... I only miss it all the more now though.

If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world."

So amazing. I wish everybody commenting here were together in Bag End enjoying a feast and laughing and cheering and singing and dancing, then after I’d go watch the stars with a pipe in my hand and just be so content and happy of seeing everybody and being home...

Listening to this in the background at work. Co-worker comes in my office - "Is that Lord of the Rings?" Me: "Why, yes fellow person of good taste in music, books and movies." Thank you for this and all of these awesome worlds that you help transport me to. It allows for a little bit of peace in a chaotic world. Stay safe and well. 💕

    Hey friend,

My dad was in the hospital, it was the final days of his life. He was losing his ability to breath from the Pancreatic Cancer in his lungs.

We loved lord of the rings. I found this, and we played it all the way through his passing.

It made me feel like he was just returning home.

Thank you so much, you are doing wonderful things for people by creating these.
