GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!...

I saw it by myself in an empty theater. It was the best movie experience I've had in at least 7 or 8 years.

The main character's name was Aatami Korpi (Adam "Deep Forest", a type of swamp with trees). There's a Finnish expression "korpisoturi" (deep forest warrior) and this guy is a prime example of that.

Finland! I am so proud our country can deliver something good in this age of cultural wokeness.

Gary should start doing foreign and Indie film reviews just to spread the word and stick it to Hollywood. The positive energy in the video was infectious.

I watched SISU, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Its nice to see a hero who went through hardship and doesn't make a public spectacle about his victimhood. Instead, he goes through life being a resilient badass as a result of the hardship. In a world where everyone is trying to win the oppression Olympics, we need more movies like this one.

As a Dane, having known a few drunk Finns in my life, that poster is more or less how all Finns look like if you lock eye contact with one, haha!!

Aatami Korpi is his name. The Russians called him Koschei, which doesn't actually mean "Immortal" but "Koschei the Deathless" (or Immortal) is a villain character from Russian folklore who is deathless because he hides his soul nested within various objects. It is very similar to John Wick being called "Baba Yaga," who is a famous Russian witch (actually female so Koschei would have been better for Wick). In at least one tale the hero has to seek help from the dangerous Baba Yaga to fight Koschei after he abducts his wife. Hellboy creator Mike Mignola has used both of them in Hellboy related stories.

Sisu can be roughly translated into English as strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity. Often used when the odds are against you. But you got it.

This is what The Book of Boba Fett should have been..can you imagine how legend that would have been !.. the fans would have LOVED a Sisu Boba Fett style story...

It's about time, Gary. You need to do some more good movie reviews. I'm sure gonna watch this.

This is one pure gem and epic of a film, it gives holywood the middle finger on how a film should be. Guys don't miss it.
