Shout out to the editor at 33:13. What a sick choice to overlay the vision like that. It looked great!
  • So, when I was watching this in theaters and we get to the scene where Gwen and Miles are in his room, and she opens his toy that's he's been keeping in it's original packaging. My literal first thought was, "Oh Eric is gonna hate this part."

I absolutely loved Spot because he’s the first “scientist turned into a monster during experiment gone wrong” character who actually ACTS like a scientist. He’s constantly experimenting and picking apart the broader applications of his powers over the course of the movie. And unlike every other supervillain (who usually just tolerates having a kryptonite) when he realises he can run out of holes, he quickly brainstorms a way to get rid of the weakness by recreating the accident that transformed him on a much larger scale. He's far from the joke everyone sees him as.

Sun-Spider isn't paralyzed! She has a genetic condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (just like me, and the creator of the character 🥰), which is a connective tissue disorder that affects essentially the glue that holds your body together. One of the things it causes is hypermobility, which I'm sure comes in handy as a Spiderperson, but it also causes a lot of pain and mobility problems, which is why Sun-Spider uses a wheelchair and crutches :) It was so cool to hear you guys talk about Sun-Spider because she means so much to me, I never dreamed of seeing a Spiderperson onscreen using the same crutches I do. Just wanted to inform you a bit about her character some more! Loved the reaction as always!
  • Eric’s face at “To be continued” was everyone in my theater. It says a lot about the movie when the worst thing about it is that I wanted it to keep going, 11/10 film

Fun fact : the Spider-Man in the black and white suit was metro booming , the producer of the soundtrack.
  • The chase sequence took them 4 years to animate. Massive respects to them.

I love how all versions put on a deeper 'disguise' voice when talking to someone they know.

13:34 you can actually see Miles-42 in Spot's flashback, he's got the braids. It looks like they grabbed the spider right before it was supposed to bite him
  • @quadrayfield271
Daniel Kaluuya’s Hobie was the standout in this movie for me. Phil Lord and Chris miller have said we’ll explore his world in beyond the spiderverse and I couldn’t be more happy
  • My favorite scene is seeing Miguel trying to break open the portal. I like how his traumatic past is very clearly influencing his personality for the worst. Most tragic backstories are just used to give a character motivation, but you take one look at Miguel and go “yep that’s definitely what a man who watched his child disintegrate in his arms while believing it was entirely his fault would act like”.
  • They managed to make every spiderman's movement different: Gwen has long graceful swings and jumps, because she does ballet, Miles incorporates parkour into movement (In the first movie Peter told him spidermen swing and not run, but the movie was about Miles doing his own thing, so he combined the two). And Pavitr is the only spiderman that uses his legs too. And Miguel goes full werewolf mode and climbs with his claws.

Those last 10-15 minutes of the movie are honestly the best of any comic book movie, maybe even sci-fi or action movie in general. The Alternate reality reveal, Prowler Miles, Gwen forming her team, Miles with the "don't watch the eyes, watch the hands" callback, The reprise of the Spiderverse theme with electric guitar and drums overlayed with Spot's theme, everything about it is perfect and makes me grin ear to ear whenever i watch it.
  • Fun fact: To show how much rebel Hobie is, they made his vest in a different frame rate than the rest of Hobie
  • @bradyahrens1714
Eric and Calvin continuing to laugh about the cakes during what's supposed to be an emotional scene is one of the most Eric and Calvin things ever
  • @joelsasmad
56:29 No that is part of the point. He could have became invisible at any time but didn't becuase he was purposely leading all the spidermen away from the building.
  • @jardelrhone8786
A cool little detail that I like is when miles gets knocked out by earth 42 miles his spider sense doesn’t go off, this is because spider sense doesn’t detect yourself as a threat
  • @tyroneh850
The Director said that the reveal that Miles is the first anomaly is a meta-commentary on what led to the creation of the first Black Spider-Man. Some fans believe that Miles doesn't deserve his power or belong in the mask.
  • The concept of “hammerspace” just being a normal enough occurrence across universes to where it has a name is just super fun.
  • @hirvale
I love that when the renaissance vulture pulls out a new weapon or regrows his wings, a bunch of schematics and calculations appear first. The attention to detail in this movie is insane!
