Girly flash games are part of every chronically online womanā€™s childhood

Unrestricted internet access was a very very strange idea that early 2000s parents just unanimously agreed on

girlsgogames was my first exposure to videogames. Was it weird most of the time? Yes. Did it have a weird amount of birth-based games? Also yes.

I felt so bad playing kissing games as a kid šŸ˜ i thought it was sinful and was the same as viewing pron lmao
  • @lavoru
ā€œhelping barbie care for animals sushi-train style at the vetā€ really got me

Emo fashion is timeless to me idc.

Imagine the girlies 15 years from now saying ā€œoh I used to play Elsa visits the dentist and lasik eye surgery simā€ in the same casual cadence as us talking about baby krissy

Omg I was obsessed with Stardoll, you could create/dress up your own character AND celebrities, I loved to dress up Avril Lavigne and Hilary DuffšŸ˜

I've never clicked on a video so quickly! I'm a guy who grew up playing these kind of games. The bright colorful and sparkle-filled vibe made me more attracted to these rather than the dark, muddy and boring "boy" games. I thought those "boy" games were boring and way too violent for my taste. What if I just wanted to dress up a girl in the best outfit I can put together? Plus, girl cooking games were always better made than boy ones. I was so obsessed with girlsgogames and DressUpWho and they thoroughly shaped my childhood. These bright pink havens were my go-to. I will die on this hill of "girl" games are the best, no matter how repetitive and lack luster most of them are.
  • Man I felt that hoping no one walks in while you're playing the kissing games on such a personal level. šŸ˜‚ Described my childhood free time perfectly
  • I played flash games and itā€™s weird to see how gross the doctor games got. I was staring to see them when I was just getting out of playing flash games, like around 2012 so, but usually it was just a cutified version of the medical procedure. They didnā€™t get weird til like Elsa got big. I was however weirdly obsessed with the medically accurate surgery sims made by that one company I canā€™t recall the name of. Jacksepticeye played them. They were like, not game games and were supposed to be demonstration tools but I loved them.

I remember my childhood best friend and playing a kissing game on her family computer in the basement and it felt so taboo šŸ’€

Girly flash games were a quick way for me to play video games on my family pc as a kid. I really loved the Korean flash games with their cute designs and music (even if the music length was too short and kept looping) and were the most iconic games for me when asian culture was growing in the 2000's.

I was a girlsgogames kid and it always made me kind of mad that under the ā€œskillsā€ category of game they were all love tester games

I feel like the picrew and meikor craze right now (I'm part of this lol) is the transition from girlsgogames or other girl game sites to adults today. Something scratches the brain right by clicking buttons and making neat designs.

Random point, but I LOVED the games where outfits didnā€™t snap together. Lining them up perfectly always felt so much more interactive than ones that you just clicked. There was one ballerina one on Girls Go Games that I visited almost weekly and went through ever outfit combination because it felt so good.

Those fetishy kind of games are pretty much the elsagate content farm of flash games tbh, it's hard to believe they're even made by humans at this point. I remember when I was in that mini phase of being fascinated with medical based games I tend to play a lot of the Surgery Squad games as they're quite in depth and educational though they can be a bit too realistic at times lol but boy I loved them. I would also like to bring some more light for the "slacking" genre of girly flash games as I think they've been overshadowed by the kissing genre despite usually having a lot more to do to fill up your window of opportunity

For anyone looking for a cool horror series inspired by girly flash games like these, the Lacy's Wardrobe video and its sequels are pretty cool. Everyone likes Analog Horror, but I think Digital Horror has a lot of potential too.

Did anyone else use the old dress up games as a kid when their art was still developing to make characters with? I loved these games as a kid and just opening one and dressing them up then writing up some bio for them to be in the series i was totally going to write before they got lost to obscurity, truly peak enjoyment as a kid
