"She a nurse? He got lucky then." Hilarious quote knowing what will happen to him.
  • @EvanRC91
Kathy Bates’ performance won her the Academy Award for Best Actress, making Misery the only film based on a Stephen King novel to win an Oscar. Also Stephen King has stated that Misery is one of his top ten favorite film adaptations.

31:19 "his legs are looking better though" me "honey..you've got a big storm comin'"
  • @lillou6509
haha omg your comments at the start are making me laugh, "he`s lucky she`s a nurse" "she seems nice" "I cant see her killing anybody" 🤣🤣
  • @terryv2006
That’s why this is a horror movie. There’s no make believe monsters or paranormal activity, it could really happen.
  • Kathy Bates and James Caan were just amazing in this movie. Here you want it, you want it?. Eat it, eat it till you choke!. I love that line.

Kathy would forever become a legend after playing this role. Whenever I watch a movie and she enters, I am so happy. Because I know she is going to deliver. Kathy Bates has to be one of the most natural actors I have ever seen, her performances are seemingly effortless.
  • @arconeagain
Also, let's all be grateful for the small roll played by Lauren Bacall.

This was Kathy Bates’ breakout role that made her famous. She had been an unknown stage actress for a couple of decades and only had small film roles in the 80’s. She won a well deserved Oscar and her career skyrocketed.

I love how he always gives her the benefit of the doubt and Annie always just proves him wrong one second later LMAO.
  • @RemixedVoice
I just love the idea of a horror story about the insane #1 fan of an artist. It's a timeless, scary thought. This movie is so good
  • In King's original concept for this story, it was a novella length (mini-novel) where Annie kills Paul after he writes Misery's return, and she uses his skin to bind the manuscript. But King said Paul turned out to be more resourceful and had a stronger will to live than he originally thought, so he turned it into a full-length novel where he survives because "Nobody wants to root for a character for a full book only to find out the pig ate him." There would have been some real irony to Paul getting fed to Misery the pig, considering how he felt about Misery Chastain!

I don’t think I’ve ever commented but I genuinely love your reaction to this. I read the book in junior high, saw the film when it came out and it does not disappoint. I agree with you it gives you a very different feeling than other horror films. Not too much gore, super heavy on the suspense and it doesn’t skimp on King’s biting sarcasm delivered perfectly by Caan. The comedic quips and comebacks are stellar.
  • @emoartist12
Absolutely love this movie. Both Kathy Bates and James Caan nailed it! The book is a lot more brutal. For example she cuts off his thumb when he complains about the N missing from the typewriter. She cuts off his leg instead of hobbling him. Etc. It’s a real great read.

Lauren Bacall, his Agent, is a Holiday Legend herself and was married to my Distant Cousin, Humphrey Bogart
  • @mamakat114
Btw. Annie's character backstory is in a Series called "Castle Rock" pretty crazy stuff
  • @ezelldaniels6064
This movie used to scare the living shit out of me as a child and I haven't watched it since but it's most definitely a classic. Such a masterpiece
  • @Markxxxx1480
I've watched so many misery reactions. but that was the best. I laughed in tears. his reactions to the various scenes in the film were simply hilarious. 10 out of 10 😂👍 Heaven to betsy Mr. Men 😂😂😂
  • @Tigermania
Great reaction to Annie's escalating mania. I always wince at James Caan's acting when he crawls out of bed, you feel his agony on the floor. Your idea that Annie smashed his legs with the crowbar to increase his dependence on her is something I like the idea of. I've not read the book to know if that happened or is suggested.
