Donald Trump appeared to be the target of an assassination attempt as he spoke during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, law enforcement officials said. The former president, his ear covered in blood from what he said was a gunshot, was quickly pulled away by Secret Service agents and his campaign said he was “fine.”

    Failure at Secret Service. How did the shooter get on that roof with that rifle?

    Bystanders saw the shooter on the roof. So did the police. Yet nothing was done. Outrageous.

    Rubbish, if that roof was not taken into account by secret service during their initial sweep, then they were told it was not necessary to secure it!. You can't tell me a $30 security camera to monitor roofs in close proximity wasn't thought of if they had no manpower? Only a peanut would think otherwise. The real question now is how that person was going to escape. Given the shooter is dead, and secret service is now investigating this, I guess everything will be ok now? Do you really trust the upper levels of US law enforcement .

    Seems like the U.S. secret service may have brushed off any prep for a grassy knoll scenario. And they didn’t even move in until they saw Trump bending down towards the ground. Training videos will probably play on repeat for a while after this. Ret. MP Det. - UP Trainer Ukraine

    Apparently law enforcement was already aware of the suspect being suspicious moving around and jumping from building to building so my question was why weren’t the special agents more alert and closer to the president knowing there might be a potential threat from the suspect or gotten of the X before it happened until that suspect was apprehended?

    Tactically trained and they left a roof close to the rally totally unguarded. Hmmmmmmm. something stinks about this. A guy told police and pointed at secret service to show where the shooter was and they did nothing.Hmmmmm.....WHY???????
