I once remember having same problem, the character I wanted was unable, so I randomly picked Zilean Jungle, my team was raging at me. I didn't know what to do, killed few enemies and we won 62v*Iduntremember*.. :#

I used to play Zilean ADC before the remake where he lost his attack range and his Q became a "skillshot". After three wins in placements, I though "oh wait, maybe I could stop with these troll picks and play something legit. It worked better than expected in lower ELO, back then, mobility and autoattacks were pretty much enough on adc, at least usually. Plus there was some early game burst from his Q.
