there is this old book called "the iron pilot" or something. it was written by hans ulrich rudel, it contains his memories as a stuka pilot on the eastern front during ww2... well he was and still is one of the most decorated soldiers of all time. he destroyed hundreds of tanks, trucks, planes, he even sunk a battleship. anyway, the book cover from start to finish the war on the eastern front, and it's specially interesting to me the last chapter. beeing a well known and decorated pilot, he met the top nazis many times, hilter included. and his last mission is interesting. while berlin was under siege, he lift off with a small plane with the mission to land in berlin in a makeshift airstrip and save the fhurer. he describes his night flight over germany, the remnants of the nazi empire burning, the battle benheat him, the crumbling of the world he fought for under his plane. all the pain and deaths and pure evilness, all for nothing. it's an interesting read.

I would honestly love a whole game from the German perspective, just showing the gradual disillusionment with the cause

That look of utter shame on his face as he realized what his country has done

I love the silent German tank, the only way the enemy would know it’s there is the squeak of the hatch

They need an entire campaign for the Last Tiger crew. The characters and missions were so well done. I've replayed it so many times. It's odd because BFV had so many issues and yet had this gem.

I would have loved to play a full length campaign with Peter as our character. Learn more about his character and getting to see how his views change throughout the war and getting to learn more about the rest of his previous crew. What could have been smh. An amazing war story that had me wanting more.

"The Civilians have been evacuated." Sees civilians running away from the Tiger, a man cradling his dead wife in his arms. "traitors" murdered by hanging. Sees Hartman who only tried to do his duty amongst them. "HQ will have a strong defence." The cowards in high command all fled leaving nothing but rubble and a poor soul hanging from the church.

Death penalty for desertion is actually very common across different armies

Every time I see something like this in any documentary, movie, or game about World War 1 I think back to the opening dialogue for Battlefield 1. “World War 1 ended nothing, yet it changed the world forever.”

Just an officer who realised that young Germans doesn't want to die for a cause everybody knows to be lost and that they are executed just because they wanted to survive.
