Armed gangs in Haiti still control nearly 80% of the capital, Port au Prince. The violence has continued despite the appointment of a transitional government, following the resignation of the former Prime Minister Ariel Henry last month. Kenya is proposing to send hundreds of police to the country to help stop the violence but many are increasingly worried about the idea.

Imagine America is right there and Kenya wants to send soldiers. I guess Haiti has nothing to steal anymore.
  • Dear People of Kenya. I have been to Haiti, Please do not send your sons there to die. Haitians need to learn how to solve their own problems.

Kenyans don’t speak French or Creole…. This military operation sounds SO GOOFY and will NOT be embraced by the people of Ayiti.
  • Kenyans themselves are suffering from insecurities and government has lost control,, this is not possible

I am part of the first generation of Haitian Americans born a raised in the United States. I served in the US Navy, and I have a Law Enforcement background. I am just one of many Haitian Americans who have a skill that can be utilized in Haiti. In this first generation, there are doctors, EMTs, architects, engineers, IT professionals, and many others who will have a vested interest in bringing structure and order. If the US really wanted to do something, they would reach out to this group here in the US. The US could have easy put a peace core made of this group and used the money to back the peace core instead of to foreign interests that will have no vested interest in Haiti. Put the call out and watch how many of us will respond to the call.

Wouldn't French speaking African countries be a better choice?
  • @YY-dv3yk
There is something that’s not adding up…Kenya is an English talking nation…Haiti speak French…Kenya lays geologically in east Africa…but in west and North Africa where most countries speak French and geographically closer to Haiti 🇭🇹 would have been easier and more convenient to ask help from…so if you see…this doesn’t add up it’s just totally wrong…

The only advice here President Ruto can call Jimmy Barbercue and speak to him over the phone before he can sendsoldiers. He must be the mediator of peace not with the army.
We need to pray for Haiti as African Continent.Let's spread love for them.
  • @zico739
Critics of the plan have yet to suggest a reasonable alternative.

No one country can help Haiti's very desperate situation, however, if many of these larger and better equipped and prepared nations will also help, I'm sure they will get the job done. Haiti needs divine intervention, because no one seems to want to help Haiti.

99% of kenyans oppose this death wish laced with promises of financial incentives to ruto. and the court ruling cannot be overturned although they are trying to. its business masquerading as a mission.
  • The biggest problem is ,Haiti never holds its corrupt leaders accountable. The population is more loyal to a core group than the nation in as a whole. While others that try to help are uses a scapegoat leaving its ppl distracted and unfortunately abandoned.
