But, with that said, Toby Jones is a character. What few know is that Toby Jones is played by stand up comedian Robert L. Hines. Hines has played the Toby Jones character across a handful of parody style commercials including "Jones Truck Rental and Storage" and "Jones Pre-Paid Legal and Daycare Academy. The Story of how Robert Hines got involved in these commercials and became Toby Jones is almost as remarkable as the commercials themselves. This is that story.

I had the honor of talking to this glorious man after watching the BIG ASS Storage commercial. I realized the number looked legit so I called it on speaker so my friends could hear. He answered "JONES BIG ASS Truck Rental & Storage". We were all stunned. After a couple awkward moments of silence, I asked if it was a real business and he started laughing. He said something along the lines of "All these mofos calling just to see if I actually exist" and he hung up.
