Viggo explains how the film explores what happens to women when their male companions go off to war, and Vicky sings to Viggo a song she wrote for her character to help ground herself after filming. Vicky also admits that the film crew didn't believe she could actually ride a horse before filming, because so many actors lie about what they can do.

    I gotta say, Kelly is becoming a very good interviewer, and I love how she gives these incredible actors (who don't often do talk shows) the space to tell their stories, and she elicits these incredible moments. Well done.

    I really liked THE DEAD DON’T HURT, having watched it in the theater. I hope more people watch it streaming or otherwise. As Mortensen has said, he makes movies to be watched in the theater, and it’s a shame these kinds of small independent films have fewer and fewer chances to play on the big screen.

    How amazing that he was there in person in 1980. I remember watching it on TV and it was epic. Such team spirit, so climactic game after game to the gold medal match. Won't ever forget it.

    Vicki is one the most underrated and overlooked actors. She can EASILY carry a movie the way Emma Stone or Saoirse Ronan can. Meaning, she is absolutely up there with them, yet seems to get passed by. IMO
