I don’t see a reason why the Fed would reduce rates. The Dow keeps hitting record highs, there’s still low unemployment, and the majority of working Americans seem to have higher wages. What sector of the economy NEEDS a lower interest rate to survive? The only one I can think of is I read that consumer debt is rising, but that feeds the banks so I don’t think that will happen until some bubble bursts. Eat at home y’all.

The real estate touch point, I think that is the key factor politician should be looking at. Even in traditionally lower price point markets, inventory is tight and prices are rising with current rates. I can't imagine how out of wack the prices will get with even a modest cut Q2-Q3 this year.

Why cut rates when an economy is functioning well? Rate cuts should be a last ditch effort if we fall into a recession, they shouldn’t be used to squeeze every last drop of growth out of the market for the short run. People are waaaayyy to comfortable with rates under 2% and in the long run if we cut rates and brought the punch bowl back out, it’ll be much worse pain down the road

Not sure why the market was so hung up on a rate cut in March--basically every finance thing I follow thought there was no way a cut would happen in March. Didn't the fed previously even say in the December meeting or something to not expect anything till more towards the middle-end of next year? The market is real dumb sometimes.
