I have met a greek woman while I was working in the us as a waitress. While we were talking I told her I was from Turkey She told me she moved from Greece to Canada almost 30 years ago she said she was so happy to see someone from that side of the world and she hugged me before she leaves 😭😭😭 I felt so emotional that moment

I am a Greek who happened to live in America many decades ago, I had a Turk neighbor in my age. We became best friends with our families. Living together in a country that is on the other side of the globe, it really bonded us that our countries are neighbors from the same spot in the world. We had many things in common (culturaly), we understood each other more than any other foreigner or american. He helped me and I helped him in time of need, and we always invited each other in our celebrations (even religious ones). When you live together on another part of the world where our political problems do not exist, Greeks and Turks are best friends.
Memleketim Selanik'i her zaman ziyaret edebilirsiniz. Kendinize ve ailenize iyi bakın.
  • I'm Greek and I've been in Turkey for vacations. They are very good people, they respect Orthodoxy, and they are very friendly to Greeks. I think wehave the same past and culture for over than 600 years. I like them and I see them as brothers. Politicians always arise the problems between the people.
  • As a Greek when I went to Turkey I found it beautiful and the people where amazing and we had so many things in common - food - words - lifestyle - its a shame the governments use propaganda to make us hate each other when the people like each other!

  • As a Turk living ing Belgium I've went to Crete for vacation. When I told the hotel owner I was a Turk living in Belgium, the service went even better, he always welcomed my daughter with a big smile calling her 'Askim' and 'tatli kiz' every time, what means 'my love' and 'sugar', I love Greek people. Ow and the food was AMAZING

I like turkish people more than a lot of europeans honestly, it"s sad that we can't concentrate on what unites us
  • I had been at Istanbul in 1998. The Turkish people was very friendly especially when they understood that we were Greeks. I think that the "hate" if exist made from the politics of the two countries. The people have nothing to divide. We want peace and I think Turkish people want it too. Peace is the key for all of us. 🇹🇷☮️🇬🇷

I am Greek and I live in Belgium, here I have many Turkish friends and we get along very well. We sometimes tease each other because of coffee or baklava, but it’s never where. We have a very similar mentality and the Greeks and Turks are very good friends here in Belgium.

I married a Turkish woman. I myself was born in Canada to Greek parents. We met when we were very young. In those days there was some animosity between cultures in Canada. Today attitudes have changed and people realize we have more in common than you can ever imagine. I love the Turkish people. I think we share so much love for music and food. We have literally thousands of words in common. Our foods are shared by both cultures. We lived together for hundreds of years in Asia Minor and in Greece during the Ottoman Empire. I would encourage peace, love and harmony between our countries. Be kind to one another. Sometimes our leaders forget this but we can change how people think.

Ο πιο σωστός ήταν ο πρώτος κύριος, ο οποίος και έχει ταξιδέψει. Τα ταξίδια εξάλλου είναι τα καλύτερα μαθήματα ενάντια στον ρατσισμό.

Thank you for this video! As a teacher in Greece, I always try to stay focused on the things that count and keep my students out of bad politics and fanaticism! My great grandparents and my grandparents came from Asia Minor and I grew up listening to their stories! They were so close to Turkish families and they considered them members of their own and vice-versa! Both parties were saddened and both parties lost..but let's keep the past to the past! I have visited Turkey, it has been one of my most enjoyable experiences and the people I met were kind and very hospitable and even more so when they heard I am Greek!! I want to visit more places in Turkey in the future! And please, don't listen to the politicians!! They just want to fuel a supposed discord so we would avert our eyes from the real existing problems they create so they can control us!
